Very disappointed in the feather. It is quite short, has splits and is very plain. Just grey like a pigeon feather. I was hoping for something more exotic, longer and with more color. Other than that it is satisfactory.

I got this pen to learn calligraphy and to have a nice feather pen to write letters with. The set comes with 10 calligraphy nibs and two writing nibs and I couldn’t be happier. The ink is very smooth coming out of the nibs. The pen itself is very think and heavy, so it doesn’t cause my hand to cramp when using by it like my other quill does. The box also unexpectedly came with foam on not only the bottom of the box, which was cut out perfectly to accommodate the ink and pen stand, but also the top of the box, which was an unexpected delight, the box is nice enough you may not need a different box to keep the pen in. I highly recommend it, whether you are writing letters or doing calligraphy, it’s absolutely worth the price and more.

Absolutely beautiful set with tons of nibs and a nice little quill with a desk display. The quill is pretty but too small for larger hands. That said it is still a solid purchase. Just buy yourself some ink separately and the costs stay low.
