I've owned CAD microphones for a very long time, love my matched pair of Equitek E-100's I got in 1994 that I wouldn't part with for any amount of money. When I started having issues with my fleet of SM58's I bought a 3 pack of D-38's, partly because I could get them delivered next day. WOW!! These are really great sounding microphones with very smooth and accurate reproduction for all vocals, so good in fact that I bought 3 more!! Hopefully they will last like my E-100's. I'm pleased to own another great product from the folks in Ohio.

Dynamic range for vocals is more than acceptable in this mic and compares well to more expensive brands. The pattern is tight and is an excellent mic to use with an on-stage Bose system. Will buy again.

these will not be your go to mic.If you need bright tones and ultra high gain, than this model is what you want.I like the tones, my business partner and fellow sound-man hates them.Buy them for female vocalists and quiet backup singers, remember to point them away from loud sources.I have done many thousands of live acts, i know of what I speak.

great mics great deal , very durable construction , mid to mid high enhancements , though they are described as super cardioids , id say they have directional pattern , no real side address role off of any kind , handle plosives and loud noises very well , case is great to

I bought these mics to use at a music festival where it's traditional to spray the acts with beer if you like them. Needless to say, I'm not going to be putting any $200 mics on that stage. The acts also range from screaming hard rock to fiddle-and-banjo folk acts, sometimes in the same set. These mics worked great given all that, particularly given the price. No problems with feedback, even though I had the monitors cranked up loud. The mics did noticeably emphasize sibilance, more so than my Sennheisers, but it was a fair tradeoff for the affordability and reliability, and if one was broken by a flying beer can, I was only out $15 and change.
