About this item

  • Look like a King with the classic styling of performance microphones from the 40s & 50s. Sound like a King with the modern dynamic microphone technology with a supercardioid polar pattern.
  • The internal microphone element is shock-mounted to prevent handling and stage noise from interfering with your performance or recording. Janky stage setups and grabby audience paws won't interfere with your performance.
  • The die-cast zinc metal housing is nearly indestructible and will last longer than most bands.

Look and sound great using the Memphis Blue Classic Dynamic Microphone. Combining modern performance characteristics and a timeless, vintage look, the mic is perfect for podcasting, streaming, and live performing. It features a high quality moving coil, a wide frequency range, and a supercardioid polar pattern that is excellent at rejecting unwanted sound sources. The Memphis Blue classic is designed specifically for voice use, with a transparent sound and a slight presence peak. No other microphone fuses the performance of high end stage mics, with the looks and affordability of a home podcast microphone quite like the Memphis.

I totally dig this microphone, I've used it to record live performances and I cannot complain at all and it looks cool as all get.

I was a bit nervous about buying this mic, as I usually am when buying new tech. But I must say this mic is amazing. Looks beautiful and sounds better than my last vintage mic which cost me $160+. Highly recommended for anyone. Looks and sounds like a $1000 mic for less than a 100 dollars. Will update this if I see any issues going forward. Thanks for reading.

I play in an acoustic Irish folk punk band. Our stage setup uses two vocal mics for five guys moving around on stage, with all of us singing around the mics. We've been using AT-2035 condenser mics, which would be great if we were 100% acoustic, but our instruments are all electric or mic'd up. Therefore, the 2035's are just too hot for our stage setup and give our soundman unending headaches trying to keep them under control. We decided to switch out to dynamic mics, but we wanted something in a classic Unidyne style to continue in our style of circling around the mics when singing. After doing a bit of research, the SR Memphis Blue kept popping up in the comparisons to the Shure Super 55, SH-55, and a host of other imitators. (Monoprice has long been a go-to for sound equipment. They have amazing bang for the buck.)Fast forward to getting the mics delivered. This thing is built like a TANK. All metal and shiny chrome and heavy! (Do make sure you have a sturdy stand. These things are heavy big pigs.) They came in a hard case for transporting to gigs, which is a bonus. The moment of truth came when running a side by side comparison to the AT-2035 through our full PA. The AT was at it's usual borderline shreiking hotness, but when we fired up the Memphis, not only did we have the same polar proximity area, but we could also crank up the monitors without fear of waking the feedback banshees. We even had one of our mains pointed towards the mic, and it was a trooper. Good flat response, plosives are a little meh if you get in too close, but we're not mic eaters, so it's not a problem. All in all, great bang and looks for the buck! We'll circle back in a few months after gigging with them, but so far, it's been great!

Really solid build, looks great and stands up well against other Shure mics. The sound is good and it fits well on a single pole mic stand.Comes in a plastic case too!I would recommend this mic, it is very good value for the price.

I fine the hole where it connects to the mic is too close to the XLR jack I had to take the lock ring off in order to fit both XLR plug and the mic stand on but it works. quility of the mic is awesome. the look is classic

I used this mic for an announcing mic during a boxing themed event. It is really solid build. The thing is weighty, which feels great in your hand. The audio quality is pretty good. The only downside is that it picks ups a fair amount of the wind from when you breathe, and there's no way to add a windscreen. But other than that, it sounds great. Definitely worth rhe price.

After looking at similar, vintage-style mics, I found Monoprice makes this one. As a guitarist, I know Monoprice has produced some great, cheap gear, and this is the same. The mic is solid and sounds really good, especially for live use. I think this is just about as good as a similar Shure mic, but at 1/3 of the cost. Huge value here.Response is good. The pop screen cuts plosives nicely. The cardioid pattern is pretty tight, with drop off happening just over an inch out of the center. I really like this, as it picks up very little of my guitar in the room.Note, the mount for the mic is very close to the cable jack, so it doesn't work well with all mic stands, and you may need to remove the tightening "daisy" on your stand to make it fit.I wish the pop screen wasn't bright blue, but something more neutral.Still, overall, an unbeatable value for this level of vintage style.

I bought 4 of these, because at this price, who could say no? The first thing I noticed is that they are beautiful. Second, they are heavy. Extremely heavy. If you have a boom mic stand, you might want to think twice about this mic because it will challenge your boom's ability to hold it.Our first gig with these mics was challenging. The vocals sounded hollow and like they were on the verge of feeding back. We used our typical settings that we've been using for years. But that didn't work for these mics. Hmmm... Our second gig, we tried again, and decided to fiddle with the EQ. One of the mics stopped working. I've returned it. The remaining mics still sounded a bit hollow, but we lived with it. I have another gig this weekend and I'll see if we can improve the situation. If not, I'll have to return them all.It is a shame, because these things look super cool and appear to be very solid. But in actual use, they have been quite disappointing.

I read good reviews on forums for this microphone and it delivers. Very well made, sounds as good as my plain but trusty SM58. Don't need exhaustive Eq, just plug and sing : )I don't A/B it with a SH55 but I'm totally satisfied. And it looks awesome (but you already know this)!
