Insulation is great, guess the negative reviews have little to no wire experience, ive been doing it for 25+ years. Also super easy to strip, get the right strippers to those who wrote bad reviews. 18ga strippers work but i use 16ga just fine which gives a little more headroom. This wont carry the same current as solid copper but more than adequate for control/alarm signalling, fyi the typical station z security wire is 22ga copper which is way lighter.Box had no tangles! that is a major plus right there. No breakage either. I'd buy it again for the appropriate application

For all your alarm wiring needs this is the stuff. This was reasonably priced and comes in a nice box. 500' is a lot of wire!

Buyer beware, this is ALUMINUM wire. I took a good look at it under a powerful microscope, and yup, it's aluminum, with a super thin coating of copper. Juuuuust enough to give it a copper color.This appears to be the 'new normal' for stranded wire like this. It's news to me. It was never like this many years ago, but manufacturers must have created a cheap way of coating fine aluminum wires like these.
