This pannier is great for the price. It isn't authentic, of course, and the waist is not going to fit someone larger than about a size 12 or 14 ladies waist, but it does the job reasonably well and holds lighter skirts and petticoats out. I suspect it is often bought as an outerwear accessory for costumes, but I am using in for photoshoots with period dresses. It doesn't hold a lot of weight, but for my purpose it works fine. I would want a steel or bone cage if I was wearing this for reenactments and such.

This crinoline is so sturdy and supports my heavy costume skirts so well! But it's also so light and soft! they compress easily as you walk through doorways and are so easy to put on! They also fit so many sizes because they stretch so so much!! It fits a size small to a XXXL! maybe even a little more than that! I'm really impressed and I highly recommend these for costume wear!!
