Only time will tell, of course, if a battery is good, but this one charged properly in an ICOM charger. The belt clip interchanged with one on a genuine Icom battery. This has 2600 mAh while the OEM BP-279 is only 1570. This does make the battery 1.5 ounces heavier and 3/4" thick compared the the 3/8" thick OEM one. I think it is worth the trade for better life, but that depends on how one uses the radio. I did not have an Icom BP-280 to compare it to which would be a more direct comparison in terms of size and weight. The battery will on the Icom IC-V10MR MURS radio which was not on the list. Oddly, I com does not list the BP-280 as an option for that radio. I remain amazed at how much more capacity we get these days with lithium batteries compared to 30 years ago with NiMH and NiCad batteries with less weight and bulk.

So far great battery only drawback right now is that the battery is thicker than the original so the leather case no longer fits but that’s minor compared to having a battery go dead 💀 3/4 of the way through the day
