This bit seemed great at first, but after two nail strikes, it seemed to get dull significantly and quickly. Proud of that, it was a very good fast bit.

Had to run a wire on the exterior wall of an existing house and hit a nail with a regular spade bit. This bit chewed right through it.

This bit saved me from a major headache. I was installing a rework electrical box that required a hole to be drilled through a stud to get power to the outlet from another box. The stud was hidden behind drywall and buried about 10" from the opening cut for the new box. I used a 16" long, 3/4" auger bit for this and at the very end of the cut, the leading tooth broke off the bit and embedded itself into the stud. No amount of drilling with the auger bit would dislodge this metal tooth (broken auger bits aren't designed to cut metal :). What was the solution to remove the metal tooth and finish the hole? THIS BIT. This bit chucked into a 12" extension cut right through the metal tooth and finished the hole in about 1 second. Saved me from a major headache! Thanks Bosch!

I use bits like these in a Makita impact driver for drilling through studs and top plates where a hole hawg doesn't fit or isn't at hand. This bit works well but it is not perfect. It has issues in harder wood as the threads on the pilot screw are too fine. It does handle nails very well and can be easily sharpened with a fine file.
