Completely useless battery. You would be better off fitting a bar of chocolate in your phone than this battery. I got half the battery life of my old battery, which was at 81%. After two weeks, it started overheating while charging.

This battery is not 6500mAh. In fact it holds less charge than the 2 year old 3300mAh battery it was replacing. Too much work to open up the phone again to get a refund. I installed a app called Batty Life Checker that notes the capacity is 1821mAh

**IMPORTANT EDIT**:If your battery is making your phone shut off or restart randomly after installing, try this. Go under battery health and turn off battery optimization and clean energy options. This seemed to work for me. Will update if things change.Battery instructions can be found on Youtube. Take your time. 100% battery health upon installation and everything seems to be smooth so far. My original battery was at 74% health and this battery is a vast improvement in regards to how slow it drains.

Battery fit Beauty, easy replacement.Tool quality was good, I will use them again. The seal never lined up very well … so I used a little RTV to help seal the phone.

Pro’s - The tools work and battery as well.Cons - no instructions, watched a few You Tube videos. The magnet in the screw driver handle could be a little stronger, as the very small screws kept falling out of the driver when trying to reinstall screws.Tip: Use magnifying visor to see as you need to use both hands. Additionally use some double sided tape on your work area to place the screws in the pattern in which you remove them, as the screws are not all the same size.

It was a relatively simple process to install. The screws are micro size. A bit of grease on the screwdriver tip helped a lot. Previously my battery might last 2 hours. Now I play games all day with my foot in a cast. I am getting 10 hours of hard use.Very happy.

Battery is approximately the capacity described. Tools are super cheap but mostly work. This kit comes with replacement adhesive which is great but no instructions for anything, sans an iFixIt video link. Overall this kit provides you with the bare minimum to successfully replace an iPhone 8 battery, all for less than $20. So, while id probably give it 4 stars practically, many other products on Amazon don't meet this threshold with similar reviews averages, so I'll rank it 5.Battery replacement is not exactly easy, especially if you have unsteady hands or have never tried it before. However $20 is a far cry from a $400 new phone, so probably worth trying if you're semi handy.

My husband replaced our daughter’s iPhone8 battery. Here are his comments: (1) Removing screen from case was difficult. Ended up using hair dryer to heat the edges to soften the glue (but careful not to burn the plastic). The plastic triangular (guitar-like) pick and pryer that come with the battery were too thick to get in between the screen and case. Used a tiny flat head jeweler’s screwdriver (that I already owned) to separate the top, then used the triangular (guitar) pick from the kit to separate the rest. (2) The screwdriver heads in this kit are magnetized, which was very helpful. (3) ADVICE: Remove old glue from edges of phone *before* reattaching screen. After I reattached the internal plugs and screwed back in the metal brackets, I realized there was some white glue / gasket material on the edges inside the screen. Surgically removed with the excellent tweezers that come with this kit. Btw, the kit has a new glue strip for sealing the edges of the phone. Was surprisingly easy to align. (4) Removing the old battery glue tabs was probably the hardest part of the entire process. In online videos folks just pull them and they eventually come out. In my case, the black tabs broke from the white glue strips underneath, even though I was very careful. Ended up using an old library card to get underneath the battery and separate away the battery. (Also tried dental floss at one point, but that wasn’t very helpful.) It’s a bit nerve wracking to shove something under the battery because you have to bend the battery a bit, and you don’t want to puncture a lithium battery, etc. But, mission accomplished. I then spent quite a bit of time removing the old tape gunk stuck to the bottom of the case. (Tweezers and small jeweler’s screwdriver were helpful for scraping/removing.) Not sure about their new designs, but Apple should have a better system for attaching the battery so it can be removed more easily later. (I know, they want you to buy a new phone…) Anyway, the iPhone 8 system is messy, inelegant, and I don’t see how Steve Jobs approved this design. (5) ADVICE: Screws are tiny! And organization here is highly recommended. I put a towel down to keep screws from bouncing away if I dropped them. (Used light color towel so I could see the screws on the towel.) There are 2 brackets that will be removed. Each has a set of screws. I separated each set of screws and bracket into their own separate little Tupperware-type container. Note that the middle bracket has 4 screws, of two different sizes (tiny and teeny tiny). You might want to track where the teeny tiny screws belong. I didn’t but was able to figure it out later. But still, better to note the difference when removing the screws in the first place. (6) I watched several videos on how to do this. The videos suggest it takes about 12 to 15 minutes from start to finish. I figured this being my first time, it would take me an hour. It ended up taking 3 hours. But next time will be easier and faster. And there was much satisfaction in doing it myself. Huge endorphin rush when I turned the phone back on and it worked!

Battery life is excellent but you have to follow the directions and cycles and it gets better. There is no instructions, just a barcode to find a YouTube video which does not tell you everything.BTW YouTube video is not the company's it's somebody else.Glue sticks for the battery are a big pain to adhere. you have to be a surgeon. There is a blue gasket which I have no idea where to put it so I left it out.Be careful screws are extremely tiny and different sizes. Took me about 30 minutes.
