The fittings and washers are fine but the clamps are not. They will strip when you try to tighten them enough to stop water leaking from between hose and fitting. Luckily I had some old clamps lying around that worked.

After cold weather had to do hose repairs, they work fine, cheaper then new hoses or local priced hose repair kits

If you get lucky you get two 25ft or so hoses from a burst 50ft. Easy to install and works great for repairs or custom length hoses.

No leaks, holds very tightly onto hose. Have a multi water connection and they're stuck from minerals, needed to cut off hoses and splice a new connector onto the ends and these worked out great, can use old hoses instead of having to toss them away. Low price fix for extended life of water hoses along with being able to join two hoses together for additional length but easy to disconnect when needed

The quality is there, hence the five stars; however, the supplied barbs are most definitely NOT 5/8 as claimed, but 3/4.I have recently used several of another brand that actually were 5/8 and those barbs were easy to insert in 5/8 hose; alas, that brand is no longer available. These looked like a good deal, so I got them insteadWhen I got them out of the box, I suspected the barbs were too big; and I was right, they are.I managed to make them work, but it was not easy. The 5/8 hose I was working with had been laying in the broiling sun, full of scalding hot water, for several hours; so, it should have been expanded about as much as possible.I sprayed cooking oil spray inside the hose end and on the barb.I almost never got the hose to start over the end.Once I did manage to get the barb started in the hose, I held the hose end against the wood-boxed barn wall and shoved the hose onto the barb..Like all clamps supplied with such things, they are capable of the task, but just barely so; get carried away with the torque and you will have a stripped clamp; a 7mm socket fits the clamps. The supplied washers, like all hose washers these days, are really good and leak-free for one use; unscrew the hose to connect something else and you may as well put in another new washer as the new one you put in there a few minutes ago will now be all deformed and never seal again.

These hose bib repair/extenders are handy if you are assembling an irrigation system. Buy one long hose, custom cut your pieces to fit, use these adaptors to equip the custom length hose sections with a male and female bib. You're good to goPRO TIP: use a heat gun or blow dryer to heat up your hose before you try to slip it on the barb. Once you get the end of your hose nice and warmed up, it will stretch and slip right on the barb without a bunch of straining and cussing. This is especially useful when you are trying to fit a smaller soaker hose on these barbs. Don't go crazy and melt your hose...just get it hot to the touch and work fast. When it cools in place clamp it. It will stay right there for good.Pros: Inexpensive solution when you need a lot of them. Machine work and dimensions are to spec. Gaskets included. The hose barb dimension can be made to work with either 3/4 or 5/8 hose, and even 1/2" soaker hose, with a little effort and a heat gun.cons: anodized aluminum, not brass. Long term, they'll corrode together, but they should last for several seasons. Add non-toxic lubricants like edible greases, etc., in order to extend connection life.warning: The screw clamps are really pretty substandard. You should expect and plan to use something else.Four stars, because of the substandard clamps. They still worked for me, but I have a lot of spare clamps.

These work very well for repairing a 5/8 in garden hose. Appear to be very sturdy and are at least 25% the cost of what you'd pay at big box stores.
