Easy to use, builds up a nice finish, even the pros, use it. The only downside is it can cause the lid to stick. Simple fix get some Saran wrap and use a piece big enough to cover the bottle mouth and then some. Wrap should just stick out under the cap.

Lots of versatility for guitar finishing. With many, many of coats and a lot of patience you can get a unique and imperfect high-gloss finish that will wear to a vintage look quicker than waiting for a lacquer to degrade. In my case, that's exactly what I was going for. These are both about 30-40 coats applied over the course of 2 weeks, wet-sanded and polished after an additional 3 weeks of curing.

Does a very good job on refinishing stocks.

Tru-Oil gun stock finish is not just for gun stocks. I have redone the pommel of a walking stick. The results were phenomenal. This product produces a nice glossy finish. I even tried it on another wooden cane with the same beautiful rich finish. All this without the sticky feeling that you get when it's humid outside.

I was refinishing a guitar and thought I'd try this to see what it would do. Even after the first coat, the beauty of the wood became more pronounced. Wow! It's like magic. Poke a small hole in the seal so you don't pour out too much at a time, and wipe it off when you're done so it doesn't seal itself back up!

Here's the finish you need and you can do small repairs in wood etc. I got this not to cover the matte texture of polymer on my modern guns - it's for the dining room table! Beautiful inlaid parquet got scratched at the used furniture store when looky loos dragged the leaves over the finish and the metal clips dug in. OIne of those things that make you talk like a pirate. Arrrrgh. Now all that varnish scraped off will blend in smoothly, just using a model car paint brush resembling a mini Q tip. Multiple thin coats and no one is the wiser.

Usually costlier is better, or so we think, right? After deciding to refinish a Hawken muzzleloader I'd built from a kit many years ago, I tried another finish recommended on an online muzzleloading forum but wasn't crazy about the results. I had some Tru-Oil on the shelf that I'd purchased some time back for kit pistol (which I still haven't built!) because I knew I wouldn't need much for that project. I tried the Tru-Oil on my rifle stock and was pleasantly surprised by how good it looked. Decided to finish the whole stock with it, and it came out great. I'm always suspicious of five-star reviews and think they must have been paid or received a free product or something, but this isn't one of those. I'm just a guy really happy to find an affordable product you can buy almost anywhere that works really well. Sometimes you're just paying for the name, or for the expectation that pricier must be better (Think Orvis, for example.) Happy discovery. The Birchwood Casey wax, on the other hand, was a disappointment, But I digress.

I have used this as a finish on over a dozen musical instruments. Incredibly easy and forgiving to work with, and can get you a fairly high gloss if you polish, or a more traditional varnish look with less polishing. Gives a warm yellow tint, so best suited to finishes in the red/yellow/brown range.
