This is a very good looking copy of the 5x more expensive Park tool. Unfortunately, the center pin is held by a bit of glue and nothing else and fell out on the first attempt to use the tool. I tried putting it back but the pin wobble renders the tool useless. Sad, because a minor modification, like making that pin a bit longer and secured by a nut would have solved the problem.If you are considering buying this type of tool, regardless of manufacturer, be aware that it needs about 5" of unobstructed spoke length to be inserted properly. For this reason they won't work on the rear wheel of an electric bike with a hub drive or on a bike with small wheels.

The tool has been working fine and appears to be a replica version of the Parktool version. Or maybe Parktool copied this one. 😆Either way, I was testing my spoke tension and felt it was pretty tight already but my numbers were way off. I stopped by my local bike shop and tested mine bs their Parktool version. As suspected, mine was metering 13 vs their 19.If I would have continued to true the wheel using my tool I would have been way too high and probably ruined my expensive carbon rim.Once I get this tool calibrated, I should be good to go.

I had to re-spoke an old bike wheel. It's a time consuming job, and this tension meter improved my confidence it was done right. We re-spoked in the old days by just squeezing the spokes to guess tension. While this gave an evenly tensioned wheel, it did not gave an accurate measurement of tension. This meter gives a much better estimate of total tension. I'm not sure it's perfectly accurate, but it's way better than just squeezing. Great value for improving the quality of a bike wheel re-build.

Was excited to use this and started checking the tension. Worked great for 5 minutes then one of the tension posts just fell right off. It’s not screwed in or attached other than some cheap glue holding it in. Without a solid attachment there is no way these will stay accurate. The other post is already showing signs of loosening. I guess I better spend the money for a reliable one.
