It does require a bit of fiddling with all the moving parts, nuts and bolts, but in the end i got the saddle fit in a perfect and solid mount.

Needed to replace the equivalent unit from a 70s-era road bike seat post that had gotten bent out of shape. This fit right on. It’s inexpensive stamped steel with paint, but for my purposes, it works well!
