As the title says, it's very much unfinished, raw wood. I had to do quite a bit of sanding to it though as there were lines and marks from the manufacturing that weren't sanded out. The "handle" is held on with what appears to be just a couple small Brad nails and not super secure. I got this to use as a "paddle" for spanking during BDSM scenes so for us not a super big deal but certainly not a legit paddle to use for water paddling. Even if you did finish it, it just doesn't seem like it would work nor hold up well. It works great for what we got it for though!

I love this paddle! It’s so pretty and I think it’s perfect for decor. I decided to keep it and I want to get our wedding date, last name, and a nice wood finish to have as a keep sake doctor.
