Took a little bit tongue figure out how to put this together as a non percussionist. But my son(13) and I figured it out and it works perfect for his drum set.

Nice and heavy pedal with good response. I'd say they are on par with any basic line from all those more expensive brand name prdals. Can't beat the price! 30$ is a steal

Garbage! The bolt to hold the beater to the foot peddle was drilled incorrectly at an angle and wasn't drilled all the way through. When you tried to tighten the bolt, it would only go halfway through and couldn't reach the beater support pole. Why did I take a chance on this peddle..?? Maybe I love standing in the long lines at the UPS store to return this cheap crap..?!? Do yourself a favor and buy a Pearl, Tama, Yamaha, PDP, Ludwig, Roland, or DW pedal/hardware and save yourself the headaches!Update: I added pictures t help explain the problem. Picture #1 - the bolt hole was drilled sideways. Picture #2 - Bolt is tighten as far as it could go and you can see the end of the bolt could not secure the beater in place. picture #3 - The hole was not milled correctly, and the threads were damaged or not completed.

I know this isn't going to stand up to a super expensive, pro pedal, but I was really impressed with this in general and for the price. This definitely outperformed my old (but more expensive) pedal and felt great right out of the box.

Overall, this kick pedal will get you grooving, but could be better with a few extra mods. Size, style, and adjustability are great. I love the chain drive, but wish it was double chain. The springback is nice once dialed in, but the pivot ring/pulley is a little awkward. I was worried it may not have good grip, due to the surface design, but that was quickly laid to rest. Love the flat beater, but also miss tension adjustment (squeezing or loosening the mallet head).

This pedal did not come with assembly instructions. Only minor assembly is required, but as I am not the drummer in this house, I had to refer to the Amazon images in order to get it working. Both the box this was packaged in, and the outer box used for shipping, were damaged by the included drum key - it had poked clear through two layers of thick cardboard to the outside, but it was undamaged. The key snaps into the base and is great for tightening things up.It is quite heavy and feels very durable. Many adjustments can be made - quickly and easily - for responsiveness and positioning.I was going to give it 4 stars instead of 5 because of the lack of assembly directions, but I assume if you're a drummer you know how to attach the spring and adjust the beater, so I can't really fault the pedal itself, because the materials and manufacture seem very good.

100/100I love "primitive music" and build and play cigar box guitars. I have several and have them set up with pickups so they can be heard over a crowd with a small battery powered amp. What's lacking is a solid back beat. No longer . . . .Now, I have THIS awesome pedal attached to an oooooollllllld "vintage" suitcase that looks like someone from the 1930's carried it. A light thump, thump, thump and it booms out like a bass drum. Perfect for the cigar box guitar. The pedal is SOLID and HEAVY. It may not take the abuse of a performing professional act, but it will definitely handle "amateur" use. Solid steel, chain cam, and an adjustable striker. Perfect for basic bass drum.Ultimately, is it worth the price? Yes
