Battery did not fit with the radios I have. I had to trim a little bit of plastic and then if fit perfectly. Functionally it is 5 stars but since the fit was off I gave it three stars. I own three of these batteries and I would buy them again.

I have a few of the earlier plug style, they are temperamental for good connection to charge. New USB c is perfect for shtf gear and adaptability.. will be ordering a few more later.

This is not a ham radio. That being said this is perfect for the guy who doesn’t want to spend a lot of money on a ham radio license! You still have to have a license but it’s a lot easier to get! Just go to the FCC and apply for a GMRS license pay a small fee and they will give you a license for 10 years! You get a call sign and your family will be able to use your radios! There is some rules that go along with this license. But you can get that information from them and you tub! I now have 6 of these radios in case of emergency plus extra batteries!

This makes a great addition to a 5Rm or 5k plus radio if you are trying to gain battery life. The larger body of these radios require a larger battery so combined it make a chunky unit much larger than a uv-5r with an extended battery, see picture. Sometimes I hold this radio with two hands it's so big.
