I bought this around 3 years ago for a bonsai tree that has been dead for also about that long but I’ve found uses for all of the pieces of this kit, especially the little scissor things. Worked good for my bonsai too, I just can’t take care of plants :/

Well made, cute little tools in an adorable little box. I wouldn't be too rough in the box though, seems lacking in the clasp area, but I'd imagine if you do Bonsai you wouldn't be that rough anyways. Each of the three scissors has it's own pouch, keeping your fingers safe when grabbing items out. It's nice to see most of items are actually branded with the company name.Definitely recommend.

For $8 I decided to gamble on how well this stuff would work. I made a good bet it seems! The sheers are actually metal and really sharp! You have no idea how excited I was to see that. The rake is a little flimsy but it does its job well. The picture just shows two clippers but I actually got 3 including the tweezers. I'm really happy with the purchase!

Just received my Bonsai pruners and bamboo rake. They arrived in short order as scheduled. As I expected they are cheap but functional. However I am disappointed that all three pruners are exactly the same size, what friggin good is that? I suppose Bonsai masters can use two hands at once, but they don't have three hands. If you look at the pictures supplied it looks like one pruner is different........ that is misleading. I guess you can decide for yourself whether you need 3 pruners exactly the same.

I wanted an inexpensive way to prune my bonsai, and these work great. They are small enough to fit in the palm of my hand, and very sturdy and sharp. I'll be giving a pair to anyone who needs them, since I don't even have the coordination to use two at a time. Can't imagine using three at once.

I don't know what these were originally intended for, but I use them for trimming medicinal cannabis at harvest. These won't work on stems, but I don't think they were supposed to be used that way (title says "leaf" trimmers). These are ideal for trimming large amounts of small leaves very quickly. These are small - about 4 inches long. I've done a lot of trimming and I think it's more important to match the blade to the application than to match it to your hand size. It's kind of like tweezers or clothespins - we don't make those in different sizes to match people's hands. They are sized for the application for which they were designed. These are really nice for herb harvesting and manicuring. The pouch they came in was not of good quality and I didn't keep it, but it did a fine job of protecting them during shipping. After harvest, these trimmers cleaned up fine and I slide them inside an old paper towel tube and folded up the ends.I don't know how long they will stay sharp, but for this price I can consider them disposable and I won't hesitate to buy more when these get dull.Update 3/25/14:These trimmers have made it through another harvest. It's really nice to have this set of 3 - when one trimmer gets too sticky to use, you can just grab the next one and keep going. Afterwards, stand them in a shot glass of rubbing alcohol for a little soak, then wipe clean. They still seem as sharp as new after several harvests.

I bought these for my bonsai tree in order to maintain it. The Clippers come in a plastic sleeve, each with its own compartment, and they are pretty sharp. I have used them to clip some offshoots off as well as some leaves, they have a bit of power to them, but nothing that could cut through a branch or large stem. Exactly what I needed at a price that I was satisfied to pay. Good Buy for a beginner set of tools.
