The stand itself is nice and sturdy, also has handy cam-leveling on the feet. The ball bearings don’t roll very well but you can’t lube them with anything or it will get on your material, works just ok.

So almost everything about this works really well and I like everything about it EXCEPT the leg foot print. It's HUGE. These things need to open up very wide and take up a large portion of the floor. I guess it gives it added stability but I think they could have reduced that significantly and it still hold up well. The ball bearings up top are awesome. The way you can change the height on the legs by rotating these little feet things is awesome as well. I like that design quite a bit, was a neat idea whoever thought that up. The ability to raise and lower it is easy to do as well. But man... those legs open way too wide for me.

Good heavy duty stand. Rollers are omni-directional balls and work very well.

Ended up ordering two of these as the other cheaper stands I looked at in Home Depot, Lowes and Harbor Freight did not appear to be substantial enough for me. Those stands were also pretty much the same as the cheaper ones here on Amazon from what I could tell. Also those cheap roller types are very particular to set up they need to be exactly paralel to the saw or the stock being cut will veer off center as you're feeding it. The ball bearing design on this stand does not have this issue. My initial use was to rip a 30" wide x 1 1/2" thk x 8ft long heavy (+100 lbs!!) formica laminated top from an old workbench I was rebuilding (replacing the bench/support legs). I needed to rip 6" so the top would end up being 24" wide. I did this by myself as it would have been impossible with no additional support stands. The stands were completely assembled and were ready to go right out of the box...very nice. Very sturdy square tubing/welded construction. You can immediately tell these are not cheaply made. The height adjustment handle is very substantial threaded type and allows you infinitely adjust the height. Once you firmly hand tighten this, there is no movement or slipping of the support. I even put all.my weight (225 lbs) and it didn't slip at all...impressive.I spaced two of these units on the output of my table saw and adjusted the height to that of the height of the saw. This way during and after cutting the stands would receive/support the material. So with that I was able to feed the bench top and cut it by myself with no issues! The top pretty much glided along the roller bearing support on the output side of saw and the stands never moved or flexed one bit. Excellent!!So this was what I used these for right after I got them. So far these are well worth the $$ I gotten for.

This is a really nice stand. I have two of them and I use them in my home wood shop. I looked at all different types before settling on this one. It is sturdy, easy to adjust and fairly heavy duty. What I most appreciate is as the lumber rolls across it, the legs don't fold up. This is a great stand and well worth the money.

I had thought about building my own, but after looking at this one, the simplicity, the fact that it folds out of the way when not in use, ease of adjustment and the price, I bought it, and it's lived up to expectations. I like that fact that the "feet" can be turned right or left to adjust for level--many stands don't have that function. It's getting a lot of use now and I can devote time to furniture making, rather than building fixtures. A good tool for the price.

Rockler Ball Bearing StandSold by: Rockler Woodworking and HardwareMany Shopsmith owners own SS tools for, among other reasons, limited space for machines. Even though it is easy enough to extend the SS table out some with the included extensions, I wanted more reach. I don't have enough room for a fixed outfeed table. And I didn't want to build a folding contraption to attach to the SS since I change it to drill press and router table modes fairly often. This stand is perfect. It folds away to conserve shop space and it is very easy to adjust its height. This is important considering that with the SS in table saw configuration, one adjusts the table height rather than the saw blade to change depth of cut. It's made my budding woodworking hobby much easier since the lady of the house doesn't want to get any where near flying chips & sawdust or high speed spinning 'chinery.
