When I ordered this I was looking for a lightweight product that I could cut and install myself. Since it was advertised as a product that could be installed with construction adhesive I thought it would be very light and like styrofoam. When I opened the package I immediately knew it would never adhere with construction adhesive alone, but I cut my pieces and tried. And tried and tried and made a terribly mess on my walls and ceiling with the construction adhesive. The problem for me, was that the product was of a higher quality than I expected or needed. I returned it and now I’m looking for something more like styrofoam.

I've used Styrofoam crown before and I thought that's what I was getting here. It's more of a plastic material. It's very light weight, so it's easy to work with in that regard. When trying to paint them, EVERY spec of dust attracted to them, like a static balloon. Very annoying. The most gentle painters tape took the paint off completely. I will never purchase these again. Nothing but a pain.

The crown molding was easy to install and it looks just as good as the expensive wood crown molding that I have in my livingroom.

The material wasn’t sturdy enough.

Nicer then expected. Used small nails to keep in place. Adhesive wasn't adequate. Easy install. Fast delivery. Ordering more.

I bought this for a steamy bathroom because I thought it would be less likely to be affected by water, and indeed it is. It's a nicely made material, but when you cut it, be aware of one thing: with wood or MDF, you want to cut slowly to avoid splintering, but with this material, you want to cut it quickly. The spinning saw blade will cause the styrene to melt into little balls. You'll avoid this by cutting it quickly. Other than that, it's easy to work with, lightweight yet quite sturdy.

I can't rave about this Art3D crown molding pack enough. You get ten good sized pieces, covering near fifty linear feet. You do need construction adhesive, but because polystyrene is lightweight, it is a pretty easy process. It's ready to go with a white finish, but can be painted if need be. I didn't opt to paint other than touch up painting, which I'm about to explain. The only negative is that the molding planks come very tightly wrapped and it is hard to unpackage them without damaging or scratching. So, I did do some touch up painting to try and fix that. If I were to get more, I would know to be VERY careful unwrapping. Other than that, I'd suggest this as a better value than most contractor packs for crown molding, and it is a pack I would get again.
