This is a very good swimsuit. But the most interesting use case for these shorts involves serious distance running. This garment will uniquely serve runners who are training for marathon distances. I've been looking for shorts like these for a very long time.As a garment for swimming, the Arweg swimsuit checks the boxes:* quick drying* stretchy spandex outer layer and a soft inner liner* Two open pockets and one pocket that zippers securely shutThis review thus far could describe a million competent swimsuits for sale. What caught my eye was an unusual feature in its description: "compression liner."Many men's swimsuits have an inner liner. This liner serves two purposes. It provides, um, "support" to your manly bits, the same way a woman's bra provides support. The liner also provides men some measure of modesty, flattening out the bumps and bulges.I've run more than 150 marathons. As anyone has run a marathon can tell you, training seriously can get a little monotonous. Marathon runners interested in a fast time will typically be running 50, 60, 70 miles a week during training. Most distance runners develop an intense desire to mix up their workouts a little bit, just to keep things interesting. That's where this swimsuit comes in.I have long wanted a swimsuit that I could go running in. I used to live about five miles from the Pacific Ocean. I loved the idea of being able to run to the ocean, take a swim, and run back home in a kind of run-swim-run workout.I tried this a few times in a few different ways. My fellow runners know what's coming: the problem with running in most swimsuits involves the liner. Either it's a mesh that is scratchy, or the liner has prominent seams that stick out. On a long run, you will slowly and surely be rubbed raw in some very sensitive places. Ouch! You can try to swim in running shorts, but there tend to be a few problems with that:* many running shorts don't dry quickly* running shorts are not designed for swimming, and will tend to be damaged by it* running shorts are often very thin, and when you get out of the water, you will look nearly naked. That's either a problem or a feature depending on your personality, but I don't always want this much extra attention from total strangers. The Arcweg swimsuit is unique among swimsuits I've tried to run in. The compression liner is soft and supportive. There are no seams to stick out and chafe. It dries extremely quickly. Unlike many swimsuits, its 7-inch legs are tapered, and not baggy. It resembles a good running short. As a test, I took this swimsuit out for a ten mile run. It performed wonderfully, and I was comfortable the entire time. I was able to use the zippered pocket to securely hold the case of my . Though I live in an extremely sunny part of California, it started raining during the course of my run. I especially appreciated that I was wearing a quick-dry garment that is designed to get wet.I'm looking forward to combined run/swim workouts with this swimsuit: in the ocean, or in a pool. If I run to a nearby gym, of course I'll need to shower off before jumping into the pool, but this is a garment is designed to get wet. I'll be able to make quick transitions from run to shower to pool, and back again. The Arweg swimsuit opens the door to more varied and interesting swim/run workouts with a minimum of planning. It's unique among workout clothes, and deserves a place in the dresser drawer of serious athletes.

I am 5' 10" tall, 160 lbs. and a 34" waist. I ordered a medium based on the size chart recommendations and they fit perfectly. What a nice surprise!I honestly like everything about these shorts sold by Arcweg. Below are my observations;1. Two unzippered pockets are deep as well as the 1 zippered pocket, which is large enough to hold my 6.5" cellphone.2. Compression liner holds everything in place and does not extend below the outer shell. (See pic).3. Nice blend of quick dry material that is soft, slightly stretchy and very comfortable.4. 9 inch length is just above the knee so not too short or long.5. Great for working out, swimming, walking or just lounging around the house.6. Army green color is same as shown in the description plus there are lots of color choices.I can't emphasize enough how pleased I am that these shorts are true to size and fit/look really nice. I would not hesitate to recommend them and I hope this review was helpful.

Love the liner of these trunks as it's not the old-school mesh that can cause chafing. Very comfortable. I also like the styling, with the bright green accents of the drawstring and the zippered utility pocket giving these shorts a bit of flair. The EX fits me (5'9" 210) just fine. Will be wearing these a lot!

I ordered these Arcweg Men's Swim Trunks 9" Swim Shorts with Compression Liner and Zipper Pockets Quick Dry Bathing Suit black swim trunks for my teenage son, who is going away to Interlochen this summer for camp.My son has spent the past few summers attending opera camps; he’s training for a career in opera and classical voice, and is very excited to be spending the summer at Interlochen. Unlike his other music camps, Interlochen also has sports; at least, it has swimming, so I wanted to pick him up at least one more swim suit for the summer. These trunks are made from 92% polyester/8% spandex. The fabric is stretchy, comfortably soft, and a bit smooth; it feels like the expected swim trunk material. There’s a second layer underneath; the liner is also black, made of a super light fabric with perforations. My son really liked the liner; he said it gave him the support he wanted, and that these trunks were very comfortable to wear. He likes them so much, he’s worn them as shorts around the house a few times.I ordered him a size XL after consulting the size chart. He wears a size 38 pant, his waist is more like a 36 1/2” but he prefers his clothing a bit loose for comfort. I reminded him that swimsuits can get heavy when wet, and he didn’t want the waist to be so loose that it slips down over his hips, but he was right between sizes on the size chart; a L had a waist measurement of 36” and an XL of 37”.The XL fits him fine; it is a little large in the waist, but it also has a very sturdy nylon working drawstring; he used this to pull in the elastic waistband a bit, and he’s pleased with the fit. For reference, he’s just under 6’ tall and weighs about 200 pounds; he’s built big, not heavy, with broad shoulders, chest, and muscular legs. These shorts have three pockets; a deep pocket on either side, and a zippered pocket directly behind the right front pocket. All three pockets are deep enough to hold his iPhone; the only danger is forgetting it’s in his pocket and going swimming. The zipper is grey plastic; it is heavyweight and hardy. These dry quickly; they look great on, and the 9” inseam is my son’s preferred length for shorts and swim trunks. He’s very pleased with these in terms of both comfort and appearance. I like that they’re versatile and hardy. He can wear them as shorts, too; he’ll be in uniform most of the time, but these trunks can easily double as shorts. They’re well made from quality fabrics, they seem built to last, which is what I wanted—I’m always amazed at how easily clothing gets trashed at summer camp. These should last the whole summer, and I bet they’re still going strong the following year.
