Told what to buy for the entire system by Aquascape for a 1,000 gallon pond. We installed everything as advised. After several weeks we had an algae bloom and thus contacted support again on advice on what size UV clarifier to buy. We went into detail on what we already had installed. They suggested the Aquaclear 1,000 and included a link for that exact item. Once installed we noticed the skimmer was not functioning due to lack of flow. We contacted Aquascape again and they advised we put in a completely different pump. The products might be good but the customer support does not give consistent advice or fully read what the customer said. We contacted a professional Koi pond company and they were shocked at the horrible advice. We only needed to spend a few dollars more to add the optional split line to the system.

The blue light will work and last about 1 yr. The power of the blue light slowly will die out over time. This product will not work for winter use.

I was all set to leave a stellar review for this product, but I went to take a video and found that the UV is not functioning! Since I just installed it less than a month ago, that's pretty disheartening. I'll reach out to them and update if we figure this out.------------Really appreciate the engineering inside the UV sterilizer. I am replacing a pond UV sterilizer that said it did not have any metal, only to find out there was indeed metal being used inside it. I am using it on a saltwater aquarium, so clearly metal is not my friend. I thoroughly inspected this guy - NO METAL. (metal is sometimes used to increase the intensity of the UV)I was worried that the small UV indicator would be too small to see easily, but the UV is quite bright through that indicator. It has lots of attachments so you can mount it any direction you need. This is how you know if the bulb needs to be replaced. (I came to take a video and noticed this was not lit, hence my note above).I went back and forth on installing it parallel or perpendicular to my tank, because it is so long. You have to open it up just as wide as the unit itself to replace the bulb. I ended up installing in parallel even though there was less space, since the brackets to secure the module to the wall are easy to remove and I can dismount the entire unit to replace the bulb.I am using a 3/8" connector on mine because it allows me to control the flow to and from the UV better. I grabbed a few fittings from my hardware store to connect the manifold and have it returning straight to the display.

I made a mistake and ignored all the reviews warning of premature failure of this UV light. I installed it on Saturday, and it looked to be working. The indicator light was on and all was good. I came out to have a look at the pond Tuesday to see if the water was starting to clear up. The water was still green. I checked the Clarifier over and noticed the indicator light is now off. I unplugged it and tried a different outlet, nope. I’m hoping their customer service department takes care of this. It is a major annoyance to now have to disconnect it from my system.

The UV filter arrived yesterday. Every thing at first looked fine. I got it all set up, plugged it in, and the bulb didn't light up and the indicator light didn't turn on.Ok cool so all that needs to be replaced is the ballast or the bulb. So I call up aquascape to see if they can send me a replacement for those 2 parts since it's with there warranty. They tell me that since I bought through amazon I'd have to deal with their return system. So I go to the Amazon return item place hoping I could exchange it for a working unit, but the only options it gave me were a return and monitary refund or an exchange for a completely different item.Lesson of this review is that if you can, go and get this from a local retailers because this has just been a pain.

I am now a fan of Aquascape products! I bought the Aquascape Ultraklear 2500 for my 800gal koi pond. I had a generic filter with a 9w UV attached. It was ok but this thing is well built and a beast along side my Aqua Altima i filter. I slowed my water flow to about 500gph going through 2500 so it acts as a clarifier and a sterilizer to kill algae and unwanted parasites in the water. It’s working perfectly! They provide spare gaskets and plenty of tubing outlet options! The mounting bracket that comes with it is very handy for attaching to my wood deck. Assembly was very easy. I love that you can see a small indicator to show the UV light is working. Happy customer here!!!

Worked as advertised. Had a bad case of green pea soup and the 'haze. 1100gal pond system which a directed around 1000gph through uv sterilizer out of the 4500gph from main pump. 2 days in I could already tell it was taking effect. 4 days in 85% clarity and at day 7 100% clarity through 5ft of water! I changed nothing else. I over feed and over stock. The massive amounts of plants I have in the bogs keep parameters spot on, this sterilizer just keeps the floating algae at bay which in turn leaves more nutrients available for the desired plants! Win win. I am running the 2500 in a 1100gal system, 5 koi 25 goldfish and estimated 200+ guppies. System is made up of a 800 gal pond pumping into a 50gal settle tank which dumps into a 200gal aquarium then draining back into pond. Biofalls and loaded 8sqft of overhead bog also used as mech/chem filtration.

After all the great reviews, I went ahead and bought this for my pond. I selected the largest one 5000uv for a 5000 gal pond. My pond is 2,800 gal. This pic is day 7 . Most reviews state at day 7 the water was very clear. However I am not have that luck. I have not noticed any improvements in water at all. Very disappointed and a waist of money. I have it on a smaller separate pump, just for the UV 5000nwith no improvement after 7 days.Update, now after 3 weeks , NO improvement. What a waste of cash. Why? What am I doing wrong? I verified the light is on and water is flowing.

I was hesitant to spend the money on such an expensive item, but when my koi pond turned to green pea soup, I broke down and spend the money. I wish I had done it long ago. Within a few day, it had significantly cleared the pond and I could see the fish again. Going on a week and the pond is damn back to normal; no algae. Fairly easy to retrofit into existing plumbing. If you've got the green pea soup stuff, skip the chemicals and get this. Important to note that I haven't seen any negative affect on the koi or goldfish; they don't seem to be affected at all.
