Very disappointed with the quality of this product. And, there really isn't an alternative for our UV pond light setup. It stopped working right at the end of the warranty. Too expensive to have to replace once a year! UPDATE: bought this unit July 2018 and now, June 2019, it has failed again. I am so frustrated and wish I had another company choice.

This worked perfectly in replacing our UV light transformer that went out. We've had it a few months now and its still running great.

Just what I needed. Was concerned because the photo shows a shorter transformer than the 57-watt one I had, which broke, but it is apparently just a stock photo and the one I received was the same size/shape as the one I had previously. My only criticism is that these don't seem to last very long. This is at least the third one I've had in the 10 years or so I have had the pond.Addendum: Review was originally written in 2017. Just ordered another in 2024; so the last one lasted almost seven years - better than the prior track record. (Otherwise same thing - right transformer, wrong photo.)

I'm very happy with this replacement transformer. Our UV light had stopped working, so of course I thought it was the bulb itself that was bad and we ordered a new bulb. Then when removing the transformer from the light fixture it started to drip water. Not a good sign. Turns out the seal was broken and the transformer was filled with water. Plugged in the new transformer when it arrived and it works great; even using the old bulb. Sure beats the price of a new $420+ UV light.

At around $100 a pop I am tired of replacing ballasts every year. No matter what I do, (even replaced the purple gasket around the crystal) water seeps into the ballast and shorts the ballast. It's a great business model for this company it seems.....since it sells replacement bulbs and ballasts every year. This year I enclosed the entire ballast in a 3 inch piece of PVC with end caps. I placed it above the water lever and made sure the inside power cables are not connected to the plastic ballast housing so that water does not seep into the black housing rather it will seep into the PVC housing I created. This product is engineered poorly for the customer but engineered perfectly for the manufacturer. If this continues I will simply scrap the product and look for something less frustrating.
