The slide arrived in oily condition on both sides and was full of finger prints. It was possibly a used or returned slide that was covered with immersion oil. It required substantial cleaning to remove the oil. The calibration lines did not appear to be adversely affected by the cleaning; although, I am concerned about returning it to the holder because of oil on the foam protector pads.

I have not checked the accuracy of the calibration scale on this slide, and haven't compared it to any other standard. The seller does not provide any assurance of a traceable accuracy. But, if we assume that the scale and calibration on the slide is correct, then....This is a steal of a price for a calibration slide. Science supply websites sell these for over $200, sometimes at $1000. So, I was happy to see the price.I have used this to calibrate my professional microscope using up to 500x mag (using 50x objective), and could probably use for 100x objective, but haven't tried. I also used this for calibrating my DSLR camera. I use the DSLR on my microscope along with a professional microscope camera and this calibration slide allows me to get the correct calibration for each. I also use my DSLR for macro scientific photography, and using different lenses, I can calibrate sizes with this. The slide comes in a nice cushion package so it's protected well. The markings are easy to see, and there are lots of markings.I will buy again if I need another.

The stage micrometer works great. I just wish it came with a little instruction since the last time I had to calibrate a micrometer has been a while. Thankfully the internet is handy in that matter. It definitely gets the job done, but with lack of clear instructions its makes figuring it out all the much sweeter.

It's great to see a size scale when you begin using a new scope. It comes in handy to refresh your memory over time, just how big is that blob? Nice quality, and good price point too.

This calibration slide was much easier to use than another calibration slide from Motic. The markings in the microscope were very clear and photographed very well in a digital photomicroscope. It was very helpful to have the written 0.1 mm or other spacing between marks on the slide etched right into the slide, near the lines indicating the spacing.

I was very happy to find these so cheap. I'm using them to calibrate a microscope for a Brownian motion experiment measuring the motion of 1 micron polystyrene beads. It works great in Vernier's Logger Pro! I'm using the Celestron telescope video cameras that are perfect to fit into standard microscope eyepieces. I was able to put this college-level lab experiment together very cheaply. I could even replace the beads with milk fat to make it even cheaper.

Nicely made and packaged stage micrometer. I still like to double check scopes to be sure they are calibrated correctly by directly measuring a known unit on the stage.

A slide with teensy-tiny markings so you can calibrate your microscope or just get a feel for the size of things with each of your objectives. The printing is perfectly clear, and there are a variety of targets for different scales.A bit expensive considering it's basically a one-time-use item, but hey, science!
