AmerTac Westek Indoor Plug-in Motion Activated Light Control lights up dark spaces like laundry rooms, garages, living rooms, basements and attics by sensing your motion. It is commonly used to switch on the lamp, radio, or other connected appliance as soon as it detects motion. This motion activation device can detect motion in 100-deg. radius and within 25 ft. range. You can select the turn off time- 1, 2, 5, 10, or 20 minutes. The motion activated light sensor can be plugged in a lamp or other device to add safety and security to any dark space.

WORKS GREAT, COUPLED IT WITH 3 -8' LED LIGHTS AND NO MORE FLOURSCENT BULBS TO DEAL WITH. MY CELLAR GETS TO 57 DEGREES AND THESE START UP INSTANTLY UNLIKE THE FLOURSCENT ONES. ALSO THEY ARE SO BRIGHT .SENSITIVITY WORKS GREAT.

I have been using this product for months now and it has been perfect for turning on lights as I come into my garage workspace. I was able to add this to a shop light so it turns on when I enter, when I just need to get an item and Im not there for a long time. The timer selection is good, so I could select it to keep lights on for 5 minutes, enough time for me to get in and out and see my way.

I bought 2 of these on separate orders, one of them has stopped working after 2 months of light use for a 30 watt led light in a closet.When I tried to get some warranty information from Amazon, there is no way to do that. All I get is that the return window closed already and some suggestions on how to troubleshoot. The device just keeps clicking on and off rapidly.There is no 'contact seller 'optionIt's $20 item, please offer at least a reply, there should be a warranty of some sort for failure after 2 monthsNow I'm waiting for the other one to have the same issues.

They work pretty well! I haven't had an issue with obstructions impeding their function. If they turn off too quickly, it's possible to set the timeout all the way up to 20 minutes.

I LOVE this thing. We have our outdoor string lights set up in our underporch area (main entrance with no built in lighting) and this motion sensor makes our neighbour's very happy! We use it in conjunction with a timer so the lights motion-sense on only during evening/early morning, bit stay off in the middle of the night. The radius of the sensor is nearly 180°, and it can sense movement all the way from when i get out my car on the street! (10+ meters away). Its got different time settings as well, which is helpful for if you just need it to go in and out of the house, or if u need it set longer to step outside for a smoke. The timer is a bit involved to change (need a small screwdriver and its not conveniently placed on the device) but other than that it works great! I highly recommend this product for people who want outdoor motion sensing lighting, but can't install built-in hardware (since i am renting this is perfect for me)

What came wasn't what was pictured. I think that what was pictured would not have mattered what angle it was set up at. This one definitely needs to be vertical to pick up a wide range of motion horizontally. So, you can see what I had to do, in the case of our outlet that is horizontal. Works fine, just took more expense and effort...

Years ago the handyman installed a double pole outlet in the bottom of our pantry. One pole has a regular outlet and the other space holds a motion detector that activates the bottom plug. The motion detector failed. I bought this as a work around until such time as we can get the electrician in for a list of projects. I installed it into the upper plug and the rope LED lighting into it and it works great. I set it to stay on 1 minute and it detects automatically when I open the pantry door. There are multiple time settings from which you can choose. The only modification I had to make was adding a plug adapter since the top of this detector hit the wood brace for the shelf above and without the adapter would not push into the plug all the way. I happened to have one on hand so no real inconvenience.

For my usage, the Motion sensor portion should be movable / flexible or point more downwards. Otherwise a good product.

The motion detection is good. I installed mine in a closet. One thing to keep in mind (that disappointed me) is: The motion detection is linial not radial in the Height direction. That is: if you install it on a standard receptacle (about 12" off of the floor), it is going to detect movement that crosses the sensor at 12" off of the ground.Example: I have mine installed in my closet at 15" high. When I move my hands into the closet, it will not trip. I have to walk into my non-walk-in closet to trip the sensor and light my light. Or I have to kick my leg to sweep the sensor area. It's not a deal breaker but I would have preferred if it tripped along the vertical axis. I still recommend this, just know what you are getting. It installs very easily (just plug it in) and it looks good.

I use several of these in my basement for additional lighting control to some string lights I also purchased on Amazon ( Vintage Triple Light Sockets Pendant Hanging Light Cord Kit ).I had them on smart switches but even with those I had to get my phone out to turn them on and off or walk over to them to press the power buttons. And as they are used to light near the back of a large garage I did sometimes forget to turn them off and eventually saw they were still on from the App. With the motion sensor control I set them for staying on 20 minutes. Other movement within that time resets the 20 minute countdown. I have a storage fridge in the basement and now I can walk to the area and the light comes on, leave with a handful of items to take back upstairs and don't have to fumble with getting my phone and the control app or remember to when I get upstairs where I may already be focused on putting away the food I brought up and forget I didn't turn the lights out.Good detection range, timer options and works well.
