The bearing broke off within the 1st 2 minutes which stinks because it was the perfect size I needed

This tool is a prefect size to trim the tabs of my CNC routed projects. This trims the inside corners very well.

So, I have now had 2 of these fly apart on me, in use, in as many weeks. The first one blew apart after about the first 12 inches of plywood was edged. The second one didn't even last that long, and when it flew apart it cut up the bridge of my nose. Amazon was good enough to replace the forst one, but I don't even want another after this one.Basically, the bit, itself, is fine. It is the bearing that flies apart after a few minutes of use, spraying the outer ring and all the bearings in every direction like a shotgun blast. My router is just a run of the mill Ridgid trim router... nothing overly high speed. So, I'm not sure where Amana sources their bearings from, but there is a pretty serious quality control problem that needs to be addressed.

Making wall hangings in the shape of various states is difficult at the band saw, and the cutting radius on most router bits won't allow for much detail in the outline. This bit changed all that, and I don't have to spend forever using a file to create details! I made one template and now I can work faster and they look great! The bit is delicate, no question about it. I bandsaw very close to the final line and use this bit to clean up the bandsaw marks and create detailed outlines (the waterways in Washington are finally possible!). I'm working with both new walnut and 100 year old reclaimed fir. It does better in the walnut. The bit gets shakey in the uneven, sometimes flakey parts of the old timber. If you can rough cut close to a line, then this is the perfect bit! Just don't expect it to plow through a workpiece like its beefier counterparts that are 1/2" or more in diameter!Love amana! Love this bit!

There aren't a lot of 1/4 inch flush trim bits out there, and they are surprisingly expensive. The Amana bit was substantially cheaper, but seems to be of very good quality. Works great, and the carbide blades are staying sharp, so I have no complaints.

Clean lines, smooth curves, sharp duplication of even the most challenging template patterns. Little to no trimming with a 1/8" inside radius! Amana I love you!

I received this ¼-inch diameter, ¼-inch shank flush trim router bit in excellent conditions and very promptly from Amazon. It proved to be an excellent router bit for my needs. I have used it extensively since I received it and it has proven to be very well made.
