The Allen 201 Wall Mounted 2-Bike Storage Rack is ideal for residential bike storage. It comes fully assembled, and features a streamlined design that takes only one screw to install. The rack mounts on the wall, and folds up and out of the way when not in use to diminish its obtrusiveness even further. The rack has a corrosion-resistant zinc-plated construction, and can also double-function as a repair stand.

About Allen Bike Racks
In 1967, after a few years of working on the aerospace technology for the Apollo missions, Dick Allen was out of a job. Government cutbacks led Allen, a Harvard-trained physicist, to transform his garage hobby into a new industry. A cycling enthusiast, inventor, and family man, Allen had a personal need for a bike-carrying device. On weekends, he would take his sons and wife to Cape Cod or the White Mountains of New Hampshire. What proved difficult time and again was the transport of his familys bicycles. Rather than fight through inconvenience with twine and a dinged car, Allen sought an answer for himself as well as a market in which he foresaw major growth possibilities.

Always a pathfinder, Allen took to work in his Lincoln, Massachusetts garage in search of a more efficient way to transport bikes. Drafting designs during the day and constructing them throughout the night, he put together a model made of electrical conduit, metal strapping, and fire hose casings (for padding). At first, the Allens tested the prototype on weekend excursions. Finding the first trunk-mounted rack to be a success, Dick started Allen Bike Racks. Dealer acceptance came quickly, and by 1971 Allen Bike Racks were sold nationally through a number of major bicycle distributors. Today, the company owns over three dozen patents and offers a versatile product line of bike racks while Dicks son Alex now owns and operates the business. What started out as a small garage run operation now operates three warehouses nationally, two factories abroad, and has products sold in more than a dozen countries around the world.

Inicialmente dude que pudiese funcionar para dos bicicleteas, se veía muy “sencillo”, pero para mi sorpresa ha trabajado bastante bien, lo recomiendo ampliamente.

I've had this installed in the concrete wall in my basement for 6 months now with no issues. I don't know if it would fit 2 large bikes but it's been holding my large bike and my daughter's bike with no issue for a while now. Very happy with this product

On en a installé un il y a 2 ans environ et on vient d'en racheter 3 autres pour l'entreposage de d'autres vélos dans le garage. Simple, efficace et pratique de pouvoir le replier contre le mur lorsqu'on retire le vélo.

You can probably kinda like put two kids bikes on it. Or two road bikes, but I do doubt it. Otherwise it is really nice, sturdy and does its job pretty well. I have two of these and they hold my mountain bike and my fat bike (which is 35 lbs) in my garage just fine.I even use it as a repair stand, but that's only because I didn't get proper stand yet. Don't expect it to replace a normal repair stand.

This rack is great for holding a single bike and probably can hold two bikes with some creative positioning. The mount seems sturdy and well designed for a static load of maybe 50-70 pounds. If you have two frequently used heavy bikes though, I would be concerned about the extra stress of lifting the bikes and dropping them on the pegs over and over again on the single screw.I was very impressed by the foam backing that came with this rack. This prevents damage to your drywall when tightening the screw. I remember seeing indentations after removing my tv from my old place. The difficulty with mounting two bikes has to do with the length of the arms, you'll need to overlap the pedals and/or handlebars to get them to fit. We ended up getting two of these and mounting them next to each other such that one bikes front wheel overlaps with the other's rear wheel. This gave us a sturdy solution for storing two bikes without taking up too much space in our apartment for a great price. With the second rack there was more resistance drilling into the wood (and I'm not sure I used the exact right size phillips bit) and the screw stripped very easily. I had to dremel in a slot in the head and finish tightening with a flat head.Pros:- single screw mounting for ease of installation and lack of wall damage- foam backing is a very nice touch, prevents compression damage to drywall- sturdy, should handle static load of two modern bicycles- folds up when not in useCons:- Fitting two bikes depends on style/size of bikes, likely requires creative positioning- Oh my the screw is horribly soft

Works great! Single wood screw to mount. Purchased two mounts. Note: the wood screw supplied snapped in half when I tried to tighten it down with an electric drill and screw bit. Had to buy another wood screw at Ace's hardware for 25 cents. No biggy, but the wood screw supplied must have been of cheap quality. When screwing down the mount, make sure you don't over tighten the screw like I did. Eased off the trigger and slowly screw the mount in nearing the final turn of the screw!!!! 2nd note: It can store two bicycles, but just notice that the triangle (body) on your bicycles are large enough to clear over the mounting bars. I have four bikes but was only able to clear my mountain bike with my son's Bmx 20" bike, and my son's older black 20" bmx. The third bmx bike was a cheapo purchased at Walmart and had a funky design where the top bar was unusually thick, causing the inside clearance of the triangle to be unusually tight. Needless to say it would not clear over the mounting bars. I do not blame this on the mount but solely on the characteristics of the cheap/unusual design (aesthetic design) of the bmx. When storing two bicycles on the mount, you will notice that the the front tires might or will be slightly turned as to make room for the second bike (with two bikes the handle bars will eventually touch the wall so angling the front wheel helps). You can take note on the picture posted on Allen's website Wall Mount 201B. I gave this review 5stars because at the end of the day, the bikes look Wickedly Sick on my garage wall!!! I have the mounts stacked and have a skateboard rack sharing the other side of the wall!!!! Works great and already have many complimants!! Purchased this product because I was impressed with the 2-bike tow/hitch mount made by Allen that I purchased for my 4Runner. That also was competitively priced vs other name brands like Hollywood,Thule,Yamiko, etc. without breaking the wallet. Still a big fan of Thule and Yamiko!!!! Just had to penny pinch with the hitch bike mount! By the way...hated the Bell mounts. Jus sayin.

Well designed works great. My application was a little non-standard so I used a bigger, longer, screw but no complaints. May be tight for two bikes but I planned on one bike from the beginning; since this rack is so inexpensive I bought two.Update: seven years on my pair of these racks has given me no problems. In fact, my use of a much longer heavier bolt (5” x 3/8) driven into a beam, has allowed these racks to even hold Jeep doors, which are 70 and 45 pounds respectively. I’ve even placed both front and rear jeep doors on single racks for a period of a few hours - 115pounds!

This is a great solid storage rack! I purchased mine to hang just one bike and it works like a charm. As the other reviewers stated, I can see where it could be a challenge to hang 2 adult bikes on it. Having said that, it's very well made, I especially like that the arms and feet are covered with a soft material, which will protect my bike and paint from scratches. After reading the negative reviews about the wood screw provided, I chose to use my own screw and installation was quick and painless. If you are looking for a quality bike rack, don't let the screw issue keep you from buying this one! Lastly, the picture shows a silver finish and when mine came it was all black, which I actually liked better. Again, don't hesitate to purchase this rack for one adult bike, you won't be disappointed.

I purchased this to hold 2 bikes, though I only have one on there now. Installation was straightforward, but because there's only one screw to hold the whole thing, it rocks back and forth a little bit. I put a screw on either side of the vertical pieces of the frame to help stabilize it (non-load bearing). My other gripe is the quality of the screw the provide, as cited in another review. I pre-drilled a hole and then used an electric screwdriver which quickly stripped the soft metal of the screw. I was able to get it most of the way in manually, but not as securely as I'd like.Despite all this, the rack held my weight (140 lbs) when I hung on it briefly and felt reasonably solid. I'll keep an eye on it for long-term stability once I put the 2 bikes on there. For someone who needs to hang 2 bikes in a confined area, there aren't many other choices out there...
