Most useful grade book. Larger than the one I've bought in the past.

Exactly what I was looking for to organize student grades. Includes a usage guide for different options on how to use the book. The front and back cover are not as strong/sturdy as I'd imagined, so it will likely take a beating in my tote bag. However, I appreciate the wide spacing and clear organization.

Love it! Use it to keep up with Driver Education grades. Wish I had one before I retired from teaching science!

This is probably my favorite gradebook ever!! The last two years, I created my own very similar to this, so it was a huge relief to find this one. My only complaint is it’s flimsiness. Would it be possible to make this in a hard back?? Doesn’t even have to be thick; but SOMETHING more sturdy and durable than the thin plastics cover of now. I’d gladly pay more for a more sturdy cover.Regardless, I will be buying another one of these next school year!

I have used this grade book for most of my career (20+ yrs), and have always been VERY pleased. It was a very wonderful product that I recommended time and time again. The book that I received this year is much less durable than previous versions, The spiral wire binding is flimsy. The vinyl front and back covers have been replaced with light weight card stock. The old version could withstand A LOT of abuse...coffee spills, over-stuffing, drops etc...Huge drop in quality, as well as a minor increase in price....I will not buy this grade book again.

I like having a paper gradebook to initially record students grades in and keep track of attendance on the same page. I can quickly see at a glance if a student was absent on the day of an assignment without having to check two different locations of the gradebook software. I also don' have to worry about file/server crashes or a lack of internet.I still enter grades online, obviously, but I always have the hard copy as a back up and quick reference. Putting grades in the paper gradebook also makes it easier to enter grades online in alphabetical order without having to scroll up and down or put the papers in physical alphabetical order. The larger size works well with our trimester schedule.

I run live, online courses in English literature and composition for homeschooled students worldwide, and my needs for keeping records are unusual because our service is so personal with lots of different aspects to grade. The online system we use requires a more cookie-cutter approach and can only automate only part of what we do, so I needed a grade book that would keep a record of everything. In the past, I made my own from a spreadsheet, but it never was exactly right even then because letter-sized paper just wasn't big enough to see everything in a glance. Then I found this Whaley grade book. Note: I have the blue one that is big and labeled as the 3-line attendance and Grade Record Book. You may see other versions on this listing, such as a smaller brown one and a white one that's a planning book, not a grading book. Be careful which you choose.Having three lines per student and 5 day columns is excellent because I can put all my information in the 15 boxes each week so absolutely everything is visible in a glance: attendance, participation, homework, and even the essays that are optional homework for the composition sub-group.It is so flexible and full of oodles of boxes for adapting it to your needs, whether a teacher at school or perhaps even a homeschooling parent.I'll even be able to put my co-op student's information in the same book since there are so many pages. Really excellent.
