This style cutter is a great design for side milling large amounts of material with very little spindle load.

Used on grey cast iron and mild steel. Works well depth of cut 1/3 diameter @500-600rpm. Too much heat on plunge cuts due to low chip ejection rates. Not for aluminum.

The mill is v sharp, and it leaves a great finish...I only used for an hour, so not sure how long will it last, but seems solid.

Eats up 316 ss like crazy409 rpm 6.8 imp. .69 doc. .4 woc.All 50 parts same tool. But use good coolant. No ballsar weak stuff.Vp-700 8% the picture is after running the job. The material start weight was 1.63 lbs. The part weight after is .73 lbs. I bet it was all but 98% cut away with this tool. I used to use other brands as this is a repeat job. I was paying 3.5 times for PM plus endmills and they ran the exact same. !!!

For the price, this is a pretty amazing rougher. I’ve had great results with both aluminum and mild steel, and the smaller chip size is a plus. Planning to get a few more of these.
