This is a really nice transfer switch. Unfortunatley my needs changed before I got a chance to use it I did test this and it seemd like it would work perfectly fine. Good build quality and I also like that it came with additional labels.

As other reviews state, there are some flaws with this control switch unit. I encountered the same problems BUT..... I needed it for project purposes, and for those purposes, it was fine. We were able to reqire and reconfigure what we needed, and the wires and parts have been fine. The switches are all very solid.

Nice switch for going between my shore power and generator on my camper. I like the added reverse polarity and power available lights. Nice simple solution for my RV.

The good part is the fact that you get a black anodized aluminum panel with a 30A switch and 4 LED indicators mounted on that you can (re)wire the way you need for your application. The switch seems to click firm enough to handle the current, although based on my previous experience, a firmer switch would offer more confidence of good reliability.The bad part is that the switch wiring is dysfunctional for the suspected purpose, because:- the whole premise on this switch (at least the way I understand the intended product application) is that this would be a DPDT switch to connect the whatever vehicle AC loads to either shore or generator power. The wiring instructions diagram on the panel backside, however, appears to be showing two independent DPST switches, each dedicated to their own power source and load (2 sources and 2 loads). Not that big of a deal, because some simple rewiring can accomplish the DPDT operation, but why the confusion... this is about working with power and adding confusion can get people hurt.- the "power available" LEDs are connected on the load side of the switch (so you'll never know when power is available unless you turn the switch to one of the power sources.- the "reverse polarity LEDs" are more confusing than everything else so far because of the way they are wired: not only they have nothing to do with polarity detection, but they will always light up no matter what power source is selected, only that the light will turn on for the opposite power source that the one selected. And again, they are wired to the switch output (the load side), so again, you need to turn the switch to select a power source before you can be "warned" of reverse polarity. All they do is make you panic when you see them as soon as you turn the switch on to either power source.- Lastly the cost is exorbitant for the value of this product, even if it worked as it should. I'm giving it 2 stars because of the parts involved are already assembled on a panel, so it may save some work, but it may not be worth to pay that much for what you get.

The positive is it works. The only negative is the reverse polarity was wired incorrectly and caused some confusion during install.Also you will need to buy a box to install this into.

This AC Rotary Selector Switch Panel - 120V 30A, 2 Position Rotary Switch with Reverse Polarity LED Indicator Light, for Ships Commercial Vessels Naval Ships Private Yachts can be used wherever you need to switch between two 120V sources. Just note this matches well with smaller generators as it is only rated 30A. So make sure you do electrical maths and do not overload for your own safety.The leds are a nice touch and has a safety feature of alerting you to reverse polarity in your source.Well contructed, good unit.
