Be careful adjusting the clamp that holds the head of the valve spring, as it starts to warp fairly easily. I got it to work for a valve replacement on my Onan Ensign genset, but it was a bit tricky.

poorly made twisted all over added a nut to the adjusting screw to make it work, the washer on the screw fell off poor design need to make a lot of parts to fix.

Overall, the tool seems ok, but the cap at the end of the threaded rod (the part that actually contacts the head of the valve) broke off on the 3rd valve (of a small 4 cylinder Farmall Cub engine).I'd warn against using this for more than a single valve removal.Not very sturdy.

Ordered this to compress the valves to replace a rotator in my old lawn tractor, but the fork kept bending and slipping off before it would compress. Went and got just a normal C clamp style and it compressed it no problem. But ended up having to buy two compressors to do it.

Works good, only thing I would change is, the tightening screw head should be welded to the tool so it does not turn when your trying too tighten it around a cable spring. Either way tool works great.

I am tearing down a 1953 Willys F-head 134 4 cylinder engine. This spring compressor worked perfect to compress the springs in the block which could not compressed with "gear puller" style spring compressor. I highly recommend this tool at least for the do-it-yourself mechanic.

Very sturdy tool. Was almost too large for my Briggs and Stratton v-twin heads but I was able to use it after adjusting the clamp down as far as it would go.
