Excellent Product. I tested this gauge with Canadian Tire's brand and they both were bang on for numbers. Great assortment of adapters to user. Comes in a nice case which is something I always find nice when storing your tools. Check out my Channel "Trytec" on Youtube and look for Compression test on a 99 Civic and you will see me using the gauge for the first time.

I bought this product to check the compression in my car. After hooking it up correctly and running multiple tests both dry and wet, the gauge was showing faulty readings (50 psi less).I went bought another Innova compression tester from Canadian Tire that worked great and showed me the correct compression readings. To verify which tester was accurate I borrowed my mechanic friends Snap On compression tester on the weekend and the Innova had a difference of 2 psi where this Amazon tester was way off at 50psi.

Product made me really question if this was a durable solid product that would work for compression tests as i needed it for my car that suddenly stopped. I am already 95% sure that the problem is no compression but needed to really determine what cylinder to narrow down the possible causes. So i needed a compression tester to get the job done, i wanted something that was good quality but also wasn't wanting to pay hundreds of dollars for a compression tester. I did pass by this on my search but kept skipping it just because other products i have had by this seller haven't had a lot of success but after consideration and after reading the reviews i purchased it and thought to give it a try. When i received it the product looked decent but looks are deceiving. The set comes with a variety of adapters for different engine designs and had the correct adapter for my 2006 Eclipse. Installation was as simple as removing the coil and spark plug and screwing it into the hole. I always recommend 4 cranks on the needle for accurate readings. The gauge kept showing low readings on cylinder 3 which i expected so i borrowed a co-workers Snap-on one and compared the readings and were also dead on with readings. The tester seems well built and solid and works quite well without problems. I would also recommend to also screw the adapter tightly in the spark plug hole or compression will leak. Overall, once i was done with tester i used the tester several times at work without problems so i can the tester works well, i just to do not know how long the tester will last. I do hope it will last long but i'll keep my expectations low. Otherwise it is a good tester and would recommend for anyone looking for a compression tester because it's fairly decent unit for the price.

It's okay. The first one I bought would not work correctly (the gauge fitting would simply detach from the pipe adapter under pressure, ie as soon as I tried testing the compression!). The second one worked fine. So, it's not a super-quality tool but, assuming you've got a working one, it will get the job done for light-duty application. So, worked for me but your mileage may vary.

Update: Less than a year later and it failed completely. It seems to leak air through the gauge somehow. It now shows no compression on any vehicle or motor. I have only used it a handful of times and to fail this quickly is unacceptable. My original review is below.Works great! For me it as about 5psi higher than what the engine was (as measured by my mechanic), but keeping that in mind, I can comfortably do compression tests at home on mine and my family and friends engines without spending $100 at a mechanic or dealership. For $20 I can save myself and anyone I do a test for some cash.Just make sure you get the plug adapter attached to the hose very tightly! I goofed on my first cylinder and got the adapter stuck in the engine! I was worried I would have to drill it out or something, but with a little effort, I was able to loosen it up and get it out without dropping metal into the engine. I then took some pliers and tightened the adapter onto the hose very tight so it could not come off. If you only plan to use it on one engine, then use threadlocker or super glue to adhere the adapter to the hose. Seriously, you do not want it stuck in your engine. It could make for a very bad time for you. If you ever had to change adapters after gluing it, you could just buy another kit. You could do 5 tests before it would equal what a dealer$hip would charge you. Nothing against dealerships, they have to eat to.If the adapters locked onto the hose somehow on their own then this would not be an issue. The largest adapter has the spots for a socket to fit and get it out. Why is this not on the smaller adapters? Whatever. It worked out in the end.I recommend this product. It will save you money.

Seems like a pretty solid kit for the price, case seems cheap but that's to be expected. Otherwise it's a great kit for the price can't go wrong.

Great tool! I found out right away why I have a misfire. Low compression on the number 3 cylinder. The wet test confirmed a cylinder head issue.

Worked great to troubleshoot a dead cylinder on my JD L130. Turns out it was a bag ignition coil, but this was easy to use and worked well and showed a compression of about 125-130psi on both cylinders.
