I've used this many more times than I expected. I had to build a couple of injector based adapters for small Hatz and Yanmars, and just used fine thread nuts on them so that the glow plug adapters would thread into them. To be fair, the people I know with other test kits didn't have those adapters either, but it's an easy fix.

lots of adapters for coverage, but its junk. im not a diesel shop, just a repair shop, but work on diesels occasionally, figured this would be ok for the few times ill ever use one. lasted 2 cylinders and now junk.

I would recommend this tool for tight area. If it can fit in a smart car it should be able to fit anything else

THIS TOOL WILL NOT CHECK ENGINE COMPRESSION THROUGH THE FUEL INJECTOR FEED TUBE hole, THE FITTING IS SUPPLIED IN THE KIT,YOU CAN ONLY CHECK ENGINE COMPRESSION THROUGH THE INJECTOR BORE NOT THE INJECTOR FEED TUBE HOLE . I WOULD Really like to have the kit for the cummins since this tool has a"different" quick connect off the gauge hose , to use with other compression tools ... PLEASE RESPOND!!!!

Worked great for the first 2 out of 4 cylinders on a diesel tractor. However, the check valve in the gauge assembly that allows pressure to build and indicate the peak reading failed. The gauge now simply sweeps from zero to a couple hundred pounds of pressure but will not build up and indicate the proper compression reading. I installed it back on the previous cylinder that it had previously tested perfectly and it failed in the same manner as on cylinder #3. The check valve allows one-way pressure to build on the gauge until the ultimate peak pressure is achieved in order to determine what the highest compression reading is. This item failed on the third test. I realize I didn't pay for a professional tool that is used every day but I certainly hoped it would work long enough to test a 4 cylinder engine.Waste of money. Too late to get a refund.Follow up on 25-January-2022:I've continued working on this tester in a last ditch effort to test the remaining 2 cylinders of my Ferguson tractor. I've finally got a working tester but not in a professional way. The pictures show the original part with a replacement placed alongside a dime and a few grains of Kosher salt to show how small these items are.The check Schrader valve could not be removed without heating the brass assembly. I've learned all of the threads are sealed with a hard sealant so once disassembled, the joints leak unless you use something like red Loctite. The Schrader valve core rubber seal under the check valve hat had completely blown out after only 2 tests which is why it wouldn't hold pressure. I replaced it with a proper "white" seal Schrader valve core.Next, the pressure relief valve leaked and again, wouldn't hold pressure. The o ring had become rough and pitted and wouldn't seal. Again, I only performed 2 tests. I didn't have a proper replacement o ring so I sealed the relief valve stem with an M8-1.0 bolt which I permanently sealed with epoxy putty. I noted all brass surfaces on these valve stems had a lot of straight line, linear wear score marks. They simply seem more worn than the 2 tests I performed should have created.I just performed the test on the third cylinder and now the threads between the quick coupler and the check valve body is leaking. I've applied red Loctite and this should do the trick. My test pressure builds to 340 psi but leaks from this unsealed joint. I'm confident the sealed joint will allow me to continue testing however I'll need to uncouple the disconnect under pressure.Either this tester was previously used and abused then resold to me, or it's simply a poor quality tool. I can't believe a manufacturer could continue offering this item if it failed after 2 tests for everyone who buys is. The witness / wear marks inside are way too excessive for the amount of tests I've done. Not only can I not recommend this tool but also any tool set that looks just like it offered by other sellers. For twice the price you can get a similar set from Princess Auto / Harbor Freight and be able to return it when it falls. I feel I've been robbed!

Worked just fine on my duramax lly engine. Kit had 2 fittings of the right thread pitch to fit the glow plug holes. Had to use the short one on #8 cylinder to clear the firewall. Gauge always held pressure with no leaky valves like I read for other kit reviews. The price is good considering I will probably never use the kit again. Best part is my compression was perfect woohoo! Sad part is I do need injectors...lol

I bought this to check compression on a compact tractor I had and the kit was actually pretty nice. It had the exact fitting that I needed to thread into the glow plugs and worked perfectly. I don’t know how well it would hold up to professional use, but for the handful of times I will need it it should work just fine.
