Just threw this one into the garbage after the authentic part came and works perfectly. Don't try to save $10 because you will waste time trying to get this one to work. It takes about 15 tries to get one success.

If you have an Insinkerator garbage disposal it’s possible your magnets fell out & replacing the plug might be the solution. It was mine. We are back up &grinding.

At the one year mark it had already started bulging on one side, meaning hate plastic isn't 100% sealed and the magnets had begun to corrode. a few months later an its cracking and only works in certain orientations. The OEM version lasted 8+ years. My last replacement last 2-3 before any signs of degradation. This one has never spent more than a few seconds in the sink while running and then was placed on a plastic rack to dry after each used and still failed in a year. Perhaps a bad batch? But at this price point it should last more than a year.
