The SHARPRO 6 flute end mill is great for saving time. Using the SHARPRO 6 flute end mill, run time has been reduced compared to a 3 or 4 flute alternative. Tested solely on Delrin, this tool has reduced finish pass run times by around 20%. Not recommended for heavy milling, performs best with coolant. Would consider purchasing again.

Good as Usual. Very nice for cutting soft metals.

It's a good upcutting end mill. 6 cutters make for a fast smooth cut. I've run it a few times, and it's still razor sharp and haven't broken any of the cutters. They come packaged in a really tough bag too, so no dust or dirt getting on them if you throw them in a toolbin.I have several from Sharpro, and they're all good mills. I like em!

I never dull end mills of either tool steel or tungsten carbide, mainly machining as I do wood, plastics, or aluminum. Fixture movement causing the tool to snap does them in long before they lose sharpness in my experience. So finding good end mills at a reasonable price suits me just fine. And this is an excellent end mill. Bear in mind that I have not used it on steel, but being carbide I would think it would be suitable. My jig borer is smaller than an industrial vertical milling machine and I have very limited working height. My collet only accepts 1/2” diameter end mills. My work around is to use inexpensive collet adapters, which are available in both English and Metric sizes. These work extremely well as long as they do not get lost.

I'm familiar with 2-flute and 4-flute endmills but I have never, until now, tried to use a 6-flute endmill. I requested this product specifically to see how a 6-flute cutter performs. And the result? It cuts very well. Very smooth. The resulting workpiece has good surface finish (a bit better than that from a four flute cutter.) Overall, I like the result. I'd get more of these but at the moment, I am well supplied with many different sizes of end-mills (4-flute) so it may be awhile before I have the opportunity to use any new 6-flue end-mills.

The Carbide Square End Mill with a 6mm shank and 6mm cutting diameter has been a reliable tool for my metalworking projects.Designed with 6 flutes and AlCrN coating, this end mill is perfect for cutting through alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum. The square end design provides stability and a clean finish on the workpiece.I've used it extensively for CNC milling tasks, and it consistently delivers precise and efficient cuts. The AlCrN coating enhances durability and heat resistance, allowing me to work with confidence even on tough materials.

For a while I've been wanting to try my CNC router for milling/engraving aluminum. When I saw this SHARPRO 6mm Shank End Mill, which I see is specifically made to cut metal, it seemed to be a good time to finally try my machine with aluminum. I got the bit around 5 months ago, but yesterday was the day that I finally got around to trying it out. I learned one important lesson, and that is that I still have a lot to learn with regards to aluminum milling on a hobbyist machine like mine. But I also learned that the Sharpro bit is a very strong and well made bit, and the fact that it survived what I put it through (way too fast of a feed rate, too much depth of cut per pass) is a testament to its quality.I found the bit to be EXTREMELY sharp and resilient, as I would expect given my prior experiences with the brand (this is not my first Sharpro bit). Despite my "torture test", the bit seems to be every bit as sharp as it was when I first removed it from its packaging. After the aluminum test I tried the bit out on a hunk of very hard well-seasoned live oak wood, and it cut it eagerly and extremely cleanly.I wanted to point out that for some reason my pictures of the bit make it look almost black in color, but in fact, the carbide material and coating are not really that dark to the eye. It is actually a very shiny white metal color as one would expect. I also appreciate that Sharpro included a soft cap to go over the cutting threads, as the bit is really razor sharp. I plan to keep that cap and use it any time that I am not actively cutting with the bit!I'm going to educate myself better on proper feeds & speeds for aluminum and try the bit again sometime, and based on what I've seen even in my first attempt I'm confident that up to the limits of what my machine can do the bit will perform well once I get everything set up right. Until then, I may even use the Sharpro on wood, as I was impressed with how cleanly it cut that hard oak!

I got this bit to resurface the MDF and or composites for my CNC and I wanted a large diameter bit. Works great! I was able to put it on a miniCNC as well - it was a bit difficult to install but also worked great.
