I am very happy with this item.I have ordered several of these bits and have been happy with all of them. This bit is sharp and dimensions are correct.I have used this bit in 1/4" 6061 aluminum with great success with only a light spray of WD-40 as lubricant.Overall I definitely recommend these bits. They are really as good as some of the name brands at a fraction of the price.

Using this in a small desktop router. Fairly mild feeds and seems to take it no problem and leaves a decent surface finish. Would get again.

These end mills have been consistently impressive. First, they arrive packed like the vendor really cares: They want you to receive their products in perfect condition every time. They come in individual plastic cases, in zip-lock style bags with gel coating on the cutting edges. These are mirror-sharp and have excellent surface finishes. These bits perform flawlessly in 6061 aluminum. I get clean cuts without burrs, even though my feed rate was slightly high. I'd recommend these to anyone working with aluminum.

I put this on my CNC mill, carving wood. It works nicely, no complaints. The long reach is good for cutting deep recesses.

I'm new to CNC routing/milling and ordered a bunch of 6mm bits thinking they'd fit as 6mm is just a sliver less than the 1/4" shank used in the USA. They don't. The equivalent of 1/4" is 6.5mm. Turns out for Makita routers, the rest of the world uses 6mm instead and they ship with that collet (& 8mm too). Thus I ordered a 6mm collet on from an international vendor on Amazon, which took the expected shipping time. This fits securely.[This review is for two sizes, the 5mm and 6mm Cutting Dia. as Amazon considers them the same]As for the bit itself, it looks gorgeous. I'm sure it will work fine in the limitations of its type. The packaging is good: it comes in a high quality bag (albeit overly large for the purpose) with a good bit holder and a rubber edge protector. However, I'm disappointed in SHARPRO labeling of both the packaging and to some extent the bit.The outer (throwaway) packaging has the SHARPRO model number which can be found on this Amazon listing under Product Details, and a UPC tag perhaps useful to the Amazon warehouse, but not to me as it appears nowhere else (i.e. not on this Amazon web page which has a different ASIN number not shown on the packaging or bit). The plastic bit holder that the SHARPRO model number, some number not found elsewhere and yet a different UPC graphic and number. The bit itself has laser cut numbers on it which are difficult but not impossible to read: the model number, and some other number not found elsewhere. The bit and the case have the dimensions of the bit, but the numbers are in different order. There is also no information about the desired cut depth or feed rate for different materials. This says it is for aluminum, which is fine, but how hard can it be expected to be driven? I don't want to sacrifice a bunch of bits and materials to find out.The only thing consistent is the SHARPRO model number, which is fine, but you'll have to come back to this web page to know what the bit is/does. I'm not sophisticated enough to tell an Aluminum bit from a Wood/Plastic bit just by looking. I've have to make a cheat sheet from these webpages to keep with the bits. Or keep the bits in the orginal holders and add a labelmaker label with USEFUL details. To be fair, the Whiteside bits I have are also only marked with a model number on the bit, however, it is easier to read and Whiteside has an established website with catalogs of all their bits with full details. The details of the 5mm Cutting Dia. labels:Carbide Square End Mill for Aluminum3 Flute 6mm Shank 6mm Cutting Dia.Upcut Spiral 50mm longSPMS245-3ES-050Package: X004708FUHBit: 5*6*13*50 WB2301582Case: 5*13*50*6 253469 UPC:80103579Amazon web page: ASIN : B0D137CJ6WThe details of the 6mm labels:Amazon Web Listing: 6mm Shank Carbide Square End Mill for Aluminum Cutting 3 Flute 6mm Cutting Dia. 50mm OVL. I purchased 2 of these bits for an aluminum milling project. Buying 2 because for the price point the expectation was not very high. Well, I was wrong. Not only are they cheap... they are completely cheap junk. Emphasis on the junk. It has been said a picture is worth 1000 words... two passes through the material and... well see the pictures. The one on the right is brand new. The one on the left ran two passes; just less than 3/16" deep; probably 16 -18 linear inches in travel... it's cashed. Save your money and don't buy this junk. Sadly, I only purchased 2... so it's hardly worth the return for a $6 credit. I'll cash out the second bit and seek out something that say it will mill aluminum that actually will mill aluminum.

I have to admit that I have close to no idea what I’m doing when I use power tools. I really struggled to find a 6mm drill bit in any of the (American, haha) hardware stores by me. This worked for drilling what I needed to drill and didn't damage any of my materials or break/snap. I was able to figure it out. Can’t say much more than that with my limited knowledge on the subject, but I’m satisfied.
