I've only used it to mill a single slot so far in some 1016 steel. It seemed a little on the dull side by feel but it seemed to cut just fine. Seems to indeed be carbide, but we'll see how it holds up in the long run!

I found this bit to be sharp and concentrically round. I am using it to mill a starter hole in work-hardened stainless sheet metal that I cannot get a drill to do anything but scratch. I found it to be well-made and reasonably priced at $13.
