Now that I have access to a couple of Rimac spring testers I can make a comparison, and the comparison shows that this spring tester is crap. This is not calibrated to any standard that I'm familiar with. Off 30 psi at 100, 60 at 200 and 65 at 300. Total crap.It works and it appears it's somewhat accurate or at least as accurate as these gauges can be. I purchased this not only to check some valve springs but also to calibrate some strain gauges for an electronic version of this spring tester.

Oil was leaked out all insideoutside box, gauge threads were loose. When tightened down, the threads of the gauge go in too far and the pistonplunger hits the threads...Not too good design †

I ordered a 300 lb valve spring tester because the 700 lb tester was a bit too much to compress. When it arrived, upon opening the box, the top inner box was wet. I removed the tester and the bag had oil in it along with oil on the bottom of the box.

For what it is, this product works well. I have since bought another one with a higher max limit of 600 lbs and a built in height Mike.

Would work if it worked. This one had a loose gauge out of the box, and when you tighten it throws off the zero. Then it stopped going to zero even with the bleeder open. Returning to try again.
