Standard Rrecorder
The names of the sound holes on the front of the soprano recorder are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 holes from top to bottom. The standard recorder is with only 8 sound holes, and all the semitones within 2 and a half octaves can be obtained by different combinations of the holes.
First
The left hand is up, the right hand is down, the thumb of the left hand blocks the back hole of the soprano recorder.
Second
The second, third, and fourth fingers of the left hand block the holes 1, 2, and 3 of the soprano recorder, the thumb of the right hand is placed on the underside of the soprano recorder to stabilize the soprano recorder, and the rest of the fingers block the remaining notes of the soprano recorder in turn hole.

I am a grown-@ss adult. I bought these for myself and another grown-@ss adult so we could play them at work and mess with our coworkers.Our boss proceeded to implement these as part of a strategic improvement plan for all staff. On top of our normal work duties, we had to arrange and prepare for quarterly concerts to provide entertainment for our customers. Thankfully, there was a probationary period, but once that was over, our work evaluations became solely based upon these recorder performances.We were forced to practice day and night, under the scorching sun, in rain, during snow, and in the meantime, our other work fell by the wayside. We were berated and belittled for not keeping up with our regular duties, while being told our playing was never good enough or worthy of earning us a promotion. Thankfully, our boss suffered an asthma attack while attempting to show us the 'correct' way to play, Earth, Wind, and Fire's, "September." We were finally free.We sent his soul to heaven under the screeching squealing sound of these recorders.Don't buy these.

This is a set of 6-pack 8 Hole Soprano Recorders. I have experience with wood recorders before, but this is more of a plastic type and very much lightweight. The sound is pretty crisp and clear, and the stick that comes with it works pretty well. The quality is not quite the same as the wooden recorders, but it is about $12 for six which comes out to be about $2 each. It is very much worth it to buy in bulk if you have multiple kids wanting to learn the recorder.

Though this six-pack is being sold as instruments for beginners, the truth is that these are basically toys - which shouldn't be surprising, give the price.As such things go they're not badly made. The plastic is thick and sturdy, better than novelty items that will break the first day. You could even step on one and it might survive without cracking.That they come with cleaning rods is a sign they're meant to be played, too. You CAN use these for practice. Better to bring something like this on vacation with you than the real thing, right? They don't sound horrible, though unsurprisingly, it's far more difficult to control a note with these when compared to something better.If you just want a pile of recorders for little cost and don't need good quality, this is an excellent buy, provided you know what you're getting.Otherwise, you can get a single semi-decent practice recorder for about half the price, a very decent starter recorder for about twenty something. In both cases they won't be toys.These are toys.That's why I gave them three stars instead of four. If they were marketed as toys, four stars and the customer has proper expectations. Calling these worthwhile instruments? Tough sell. Three stars, with one of those stars because the price is so good. Getting six for this price IS a good price, after all.
