I ordered this ballet barre for our daughter who started taking lessons not that long ago. I thought it might be easier for her to practice at home if she had a bar of her own for warm-up exercises, support, and balance. It's made of beechwood which is a durable hardwood so it's sturdy and will hold up well, especially considering our daughter is young, as well as petite, like many dancers. The surface is smooth, the hand grip size is comfortable, and it's easy to install. I have no complaints except that it took a long time to arrive - about 3 weeks, thus I couldn't review it right away.

This barre is beautifully made and feels really solid once installed.
