This is a very complete kit in a well organized storage case. The different colored plating makes it easier to keep track of everything and keep it all organized. I put it to the test on some 1/4"-20 carriage bolts on the doors of my shed. They were a little rusty on the threads and the end was deformed from hammerring them out to replace the hinges. I was ready to buy new ones but with this was able to clean & straighten the threads and reuse the onle ones

This kit includes a nice selection. It co.es in a nice hard storage case easy to store in a yool box. Each piece seems to be built well and will function as they should when needed.Easy to use and a great value for the money.A needed kit for your mechanic.

I am a DIYer and do a great deal of my own repairs.This tool was needed to fix some threads that got damaged due to a spare tire rubbing on the threads.It was super simple to use and worked perfectly to fix the threads.I like that it also comes with thread files for those areas you may not be able to use the dies.

I own an older Jeep Wrangler. If you own a Wrangler you find you either learn to turn wrenches or you go broke. I've learned pretty much everything I know about vehicles from repairing mine, to the point of dropping a transmission to replace a throw-out bearing. One of the biggest fears when turning wrenches on a vehicle is accidently stripping out threads or rounding a bolt off inside something critical. It's possible to drill out bolts, but if you don't chase the threads afterwards you run the risk of another stuck bolt, or even damaging the critical part. I've been keeping my eyes out for a thread-chasing kit, so when I saw this one I had to try it.The kit arrived in a nice-ish case (the latches are awful and cheap, but the case itself is decent) and contained all of the promised parts.This is a really nice thread-chaser kit! It has a huge selection and includes both coarse threads and fine threads. There's enough here to cover most of the sizes I would encounter in my repairs, and if I find one not represented here I can always buy a specific thread-chaser in that size to flesh out the kit even more. It has everything shy of the wrench (t-wrench or otherwise), which is a little disappointing but not a huge investment. It would have been nice to have one that could stay in the case, but oh well.Overall I'm thrilled with this kit. All of the sizes appear accurate, though I'm going to do some more extensive testing. Until then, I recommend!

Not a tap & die set but a thread chaser set!!Great set to have around for existing threaded parts that just need to have the threads cleaned and touched up.Same exact looking set that I have seen on the big tool trucks but without the tool truck prices!The 3 thread files in the kit are worth the price alone!Thread files are used to clean up damaged threads on bolts and studs… think about wheel studs!This kit is super easy to use and it covers every common size metric and USA

The kit comes with just about everything you need to fix some threads. The case sucks no indication as to top or bottom and the pieces are just set in it 2 have holders so that they don't fall out rest it's a matter of hope the top don't pop open. Where most tap and die sets give you a tool to work the dies and taps this set hopes you have the tools to do it and if you are to a point that you need to tap something you more than likely do.

This is a full-range kit that can meet a wide variety of needs if you are willing to put in some work. I was able to clean up and repair the threads on a rusted 1/4" bolt that I show in the photos. That said, the quality of the dies and threaded chasers vary wildly. For example, the 1/4" coarse threaded die and matching chaser mated nicely. However, all three of the metric 12mm dies and matching chasers would not thread into each other well and took substantial-sized wrenches to work them through, but I was able to.If you need to repair threads several times a week, I would look for a higher quality set, but if you are a hobbyist and only repair threads occasionally then this kit will get you through at a fair price.
