Some parts on the 1994 Bronco are metric and I needed to chase the built in threads where a nut can not be replaced. This thread chaser set works great, quick and easy thread repair. The carrying case is sturdy and the toolset is decent quality.

This is an awesome kit and you will love own it. The most important thing to note is that this is a chasing kit. Some call it a retreading kit. What it isn't is a threading kit. If you don't have threads there then these will not work and will probably break off into your piece. If you have rusty threads this will work but use penetrating oil to prevent the chases from breaking in the hole. Used correctly these will be a real help.

Got these after I had to borrow a neighbor's set.I think these are decent quality. They function as they should. While I've only used them once, they've been solid. Seem like a good value at this point in time.

Wondering what's the difference between a tap and die and a thread chaser? A tap or die cuts new threads into materials where threads did not exist before. A thread chaser straightens out and cleans up existing threads. Think of it more using polishing compound on a scratch versus going at it with sandpaper. Or a 4 ounce rubber mallet versus 10 pound sledge.Just make sure you don’t accidentally leave a thread chasing nut on instead of the actual one. Chasers don’t have the same strength characteristics as regular nuts. They're not heavy duty or aggressive because they don’t need to be.All in all, this does work in cleaning out dirty and/or damaged threads. 5 stars.

This is a well-thought-out set, but keep in mind that each size only comes with a single thread pitch. In my testing, it performed very well—when the pitch matched, it went on smoothly yet tight enough to clean out fouled threads, contaminants, and minor damage. If the pitch didn’t match, it was immediately obvious and shouldn’t be forced. The tools feel durable and should hold up well for long-term use. I recommend it!

This is a nice little thread repair kit with the most popular metric sizes. It comes with 7taps, 7 dies, and 1 thread file. The sizes are M6, M8, M10, M12. The kit comes in a convenient hard plastic carry case. A solid 5 Star product.
