This unit has worked very well for me over the past 12 months. I'm using it to operate the pools1) 220V VFD controlled pump2) 110V Salt Chlorinator3) 110V Automated Valves4) 110V Lighting in the pool shed.Remote support has been excellent! My ONLY complaint - the inverter still uses about 60 watts while idle and all components off. I can NOT operate the pump using the inverters "low power mode". I get an error on the Pumps VFD panel.

This unit has worked exactly as expected and when I had a question regarding the number of batteries I could use for a purpose, customer service was quick to respond to me. Recently I needed a part and again customer service responded quickly, so in general I think this unit is solid, well built, and does the job that is supposed to do. I would recommend it to others.

worked great. I actually ran my rv roof a/c for 5hrs off battery power. If I had more battery it would have run all day.

I purchased the Sun Gold Power 24V 4000W split-phase inverter/charger a few weeks ago. Today, it's going back to Amazon. It doesn't work right. The charger had a nasty habit of not completing the charge of my LiFePO4 battery bank. After several back and forth emails to Sun Gold support without resolution, and trying all kinds of different configurations with no consistent improvement, I decided enough was enough. As I was packing up the inverter for return, I noticed a shipping label on the box addressed to another customer. Was this unit purchased and returned previously?I really do like this inverter/charger, so I'm giving it 5 stars despite my frustrations with in. I've ordered another directly from Sun Gold. I considered reordering from Amazon, but I'm wary. The picture on Amazon's page shows the unit with a black cover without a 120V outlet and remote display. The unit from Sun Gold has a blue cover and these nice features. It's the version Amazon sent me earlier, to my surprise, but would the next one be the same? Would be fresh from the factory?I will update this review once I get the replacement and put it through testing.UPDATE (2-5-2023) ------------------Amazon accepted the return of the Sun Gold Power inverter/charger eight days after it delivered to their facility. I appreciate Amazon's policy of covering the return shipping charges. I decided to repurchase the unit, but this time directly from Sun Gold Power, taking advantage of a sale the company was having. I've since installed and tested the inverter/charger with the following observations:1) It fully charges my two 100Ah 24V Ampere Time LiFePO4 batteries to 27.6 volts at an average maximum charging current of 53.4 amps.2) The charging current varies during the fast (bulk) charging phase from 48.1 to 59.3 amps. The current variation is somewhat random which indicates a lack of control. I have a 20A 24V Ampere Time LFP battery charger which charges the batteries at a perfectly stable fast charging current.3) The section of the Sun Gold user manual on battery charging (Section 2.5.1) which contains a diagram showing the charging profile of the charger is completely inaccurate with respect to the charging of LiFePO4 batteries (battery type setting #7 LiFePO4). At the maximum charge current setting (current adjustment knob turned fully counter clockwise), the battery is charged to 99% in the constant current charging phase (Step 1 - bulk charging). The absorption phase (indicated by a flashing amber LED) lasts for only seconds before switching to the float phase (27.6 volts). Note that LiFePO4 battery do not require a float voltage. The manual provides no mention of this charging behavior, causing much confusion. Apparently, this charger was not designed for LFP batteries, but adapted to charge them.3) My experience reducing the charging current was not satisfactory. There were instances when the charger would not begin charging the battery when 240 AC grid voltage was restored to the SunGold's input terminals even when the battery was at a reduced state of charge. This behavior was observed in both of the units, so I suspect it's a design flaw in the electronics. I do not have this problem when charging at the maximum current setting.4) The inverter works reliably. With a 4000 watt sustained output capacity, I have yet to exceed its output power potential. I have not been able to verify the claim of producing a "pure sine wave" power output. Under low load, I can hear tiny, short interruptions of an otherwise smooth hum from the inverter. This anomaly was noted in both Sun Gold units. The switching between bypass (charging) and inverter modes occurs without affecting electronic devices (computers, routers, TVs, etc), but some dimmed LED lights flicker slightly when powered from the inverter. This may be due to the LED control electronics. It does not happen on grid power. This Sun Gold Power hybrid inverter is designed for off-grid solar power, or for split phase AC power when not connected to utility grid (shore) power. Charging the battery bank from solar panels is best done with a separate charge controller connecting the panels to the battery. Using the SunGold with solar micro inverters which output AC current is not normally possible because the Sun Gold inverter cannot control the power output of an AC coupled solar inverter (for example, the SMA Sunny Boy inverter or Enphase micro inverters). One has to take steps to prevent overcharging the batteries. This is unfortunate because one of the reasons for deploying an inverter/charger is to take advantage of solar generation during a prolonged utility power outage. There are inverter/chargers that are designed to control micro inverter power output (e.g., by frequency shifting), but they tend to be twice the price of the Sun Gold hybrid inverter. If this limitation can be overcome, excess solar output will be back fed to the grid through the Sun Gold in a net metering application. However, if this back feed path to the grid is lost in a grid power outage, one has to deal with any excess solar power generation to prevent overcharging the batteries.I've reduced my rating of the Sun Gold Power inverter/charger to 4 stars for these relatively minor performance shortcomings, but if taken into account in one's use case, the inverter appears to be well made and an overall good value. I recommend it.
