Excellent for pens and pencils. I use them at constrution site. The pull strength is designed for small things, nothing heavy. Smooth pull for smooth writing.

I wear these at work every shift. I use a pen continuously through my entire shift and this makes it so much easier to access. I was constantly dropping or losing my pen. I really only use one of the colors, but I like the back up options if needed. I wish the clip was smaller, but it’s not a big deal. They are pretty decent quality. I worry the rubber may break eventually, but for the price and quantity I’ll accept it.

Did the job for the most part but with daily heavy use unfortunately it started to have issues retracting. Pulling too hard on the marker damaged the metal spring holding the marker.

Does not hold a pencil or pen. It's at least twice the width it should be.

I got these originally so that I can attach my cruise ship "medallion" to my belt so that it would be quick for me to access the medallion to swipe into my room or any of the other places it is needed (getting on and off the ship, ordering a coffee at the coffee shop, etc.) But sadly, the "retract" part of the holders is not good as I had hoped. The mechanism feels a little flimsy and when I tried one out, after a few times, it didn't want to retract easily or quickly.So, at least for me these didn't quite fit the bill. If you need them for lighter duty tasks, they might be ok.
