This thing is absolutely incredible! After years of trying to get by with those cheapy round dust masks that have the little metal piece over the nose you have to bend to make it fit (which never really works), because anything more seemed too pricey, I finally broke down and bought this, with some fairly serious spray varnishing to do in my makeshift paint booth. I ordered the medium size, because I have a relatively thin face, and it fits perfectly. It was hard to believe I was actually accomplishing anything despite all the spraying going on, because of the total lack of fumes or vapors experienced and the complete ease with which I could continue breathing throughout the entirety of the sessions. It actually breathes easier than the cheapy dust masks, even though it is keeping more from being inhaled. The instructions include quite a bit geared more toward an industrial, supervisory application than home use, although steps to assure safe and applicable personal use at home are clearly laid out. Adjusting the straps to fit was a breeze, and it stayed comfortably snug throughout the time involved in each use.Overall, a very nice product.

This works perfectly for spray painting. I use it to make spray paint pictures like the ones you see in NYC. Anyways it helps block out the odors from the cans and creates a good seal around the mouth and nose. I don’t know if it helps 100% blocking the chemicals from getting into my lungs but in a ventilated area the smell is barely noticeable. But what is noticeable is the plastic smell from the mouth and nose piece. It is something to get use to but for what it does I rather deal with that then the chemicals from the spray cans. It also gets pretty hot in there if you aren’t doing it outside.Pros:Good for spray paint.Blocks the odorsEasy to useCons:Plastic smellgoes under my chincan get a little hot under the mask

I typically paint outside so not to much problems with fumes. However I wanted to paint the inside of my truck cap while on the truck so I needed some good protection. Well with that job done - I have used this many more times, I can now paint right in the garage out of the weather, wind and sand and cannot smell anything with this on. If you take it off before you leave the area .... look out it'll take your breath away. Overall this mask fits nice, feels nice and works perfect. Also I mainly spray Rustoleum enamel which is very heavy at saturated.... this mask handles it perfect!

This is a great product. I would almost say, don't spray paint anything medium to large without it because it definitely keeps the fumes out of your lungs. I have used this product twice so far for small and large spray painting projects. I spray painted some decorative balls and I also spray painted a huge 9 drawer dresser. It's kind of dangerous to spray paint without a mask.. even in a well ventilated area.. or outside.. I tried doing that once and learned my lesson - I was coughing for days because some of the spray paint particles got into my lungs.. hello cancer! So I read some reviews on Amazon and ended up purchasing this mask. It made a Huge difference. I couldn't smell any paint thru it and was able to breath perfectly and the filter areas really didn't block my view. It was also super easy to put together.. you just put the filter things in place and clamp on the plastic over part like a tupperware lid.. voila ready to use! I strongly recommend that people purchase either this mask or something like it before partaking in any spray painting. The elastic parts that go over the head are adjustable and it was really pretty comfortable. I had it on for about 15 mins for one project.. and for over an hour with the other project and it made me feel safer and healthier. Afterwards it says to store it back in the plastic bag it came in so you can keep it clean for the next use.

I bought this mask to use when using my air-brush. It filters out the paint and medium particulates from the air before I breathe it. It seals easily with little tension on the headgear. It also does not protrude far above your nose. So it does not interfere with your field of view too much. It does cause some problems when wearing goggles, though. A full face mask is probably a better idea if you need eye protection as well. I sometimes wear safety glasses when using this mask. But not often. So, it isn't as much of an issue for me.I don't really care for face masks in general because I don't like things on my face. But this mask is relatively comfortable given what it is intended to do which requires a gas seal to your face. It isn't as heavy as it could be and does not obstruct your field of view as much as some masks do. I cannot comment on how well this mask seals over facial hair as I am clean-shaven (most of the time). It is fairly difficult to be heard and understood while wearing this mask. I don't speak very loudly. So, it is more difficult for me than it might be for others. If you are soft-spoken you will have to really project to be heard when wearing this mask. I make tutorial videos while I am painting. So, I usually transcribe then re-dub the audio so I am easily understood. I may just use sub-titles in future. But that's a video editing issue. I include this as information in case you make videos and are considering using this mask while you are recording dialogue.I was surprised that this mask was as inexpensive as this vendor is selling it. For what you get and the quality of the mask the price is very reasonable. 3M is a brand name which has been around all of my life and is highly regarded. This mask does not detract from that image at all in my mind. So, this is a good quality mask that works well and comes at a great price. What more could you want? Recommended.
