This freezer worked beautifully for 48 hours; long enough to feel comfortable loading around $400 worth of Dippin dots. Sadly, not only am I out the cost of the freezer, but I’m cost of dippin’ dots as well (650.00). Freezer only cools to 22 degrees despite resetting, unplugging, etc. Basically, it’s an expensive refrigerator. I knew the price had to be too good to be true. Some items are worth paying full price; unfortunately, I had to learn the hard way.

We bought this because we wanted to have an adult dippin dots freezer!! The temp stays at -40 if needed and we’ve had them for 2 months. They stay perfectly cold and frozen and it’s nice it allows for us to change the temp when/if needed

It is cold enough to kill parasites in salmon that you plan to eat raw. It is noisier than a regular chest freezer by 2-3 times but this is to be expected because it has a powerful motor. It also has a label that warns users of its noise.

The freezer arrived 7 days ago and has performed beautifully. Purchasing an appliance of this type without inspecting it is a source of apprehension, but this unit performs to specification and fully met my needs. The unit arrived earlier than anticipated via FedEx. Both the unit and the packaging were intact. I will note that the front panel was not attached to the freezer cabinet and that the panel appears to lack a means of attachment (clips, screws, etc.). Four drops of superglue, hot glue, or epoxy would have been a permanent fix, but I elected to use Blu Tack in case I needed to remove the panel in the future (see images). I installed the unit in my basement where the ambient temperature is 71 deg F. The unit quickly cooled to the default temperature of 0 deg F. whereupon I set the temperature to -40 deg F. It took a little over an hour to reach this temperature (see thermometer in images). I purchased the unit to freeze low temperature (-10 deg F.) gel packs which it handles with no problems. The unit is not quite as loud as a standard refrigerator, but the compressor sound has a higher pitch. Because of the low set temperature and the fact that the freezer is nearly empty, the compressor runs about 75-80% of the time. If it were set to 0 deg. F. and were full, I would expect a much-reduced duty cycle. All in all, I am pleased with the purchase and would buy again. I plan to post an update once I have an idea concerning durability, but I have no reason to expect any issue.October 22, 2022: Freezer is performing like a champ. On "Freeze" mode, it will achieve -50 deg C. (-58 deg F.). I use it for freezing specialty phase change material packs, and it works beautifully. Unit has met all expectations. JS

If you love Costco as much as I do, you probably wish you had more freezer space. So glad I grabbed this! I’m short (5’2”) and wasn’t sure how hard it would be to get things from the bottom. Piece of cake! I love the baskets on the top for smaller items. The freezer cooled down super quick as soon as I plugged it in. Now I can buy ALL the things at Costco!

This small freezer runs well. It will go below -40 f. and it's new so I'm hoping it will run for a long time. My unit was delivered without a scratch. Even the box wasn't damaged. (so it does happen)

Unit isn’t noisy and cooked quickly. However it was delivered dented! I’m extremely annoyed as I’m putting it in a newly rehabbed room.
