I purchased this item as my sink had a very old and stopper with a flaking finish. Although the new stopper looks much better, the catch basket slowed the water drainage so much I had to remove it. Fortunately that was easy to do but the drain still runs slow as the space beneath the open stopper is narrow and doesn't allow water to empty the sink quickly, even when fully open. Now I'm removing the stopper altogether if I need to run water for more than a moment so the water won't take too long to drain. Sigh.

This works well just wish there was a little more space for the water to drain when not closed. The sink starts to fill when just brushing our teeth

I like how easy it was to put in and just use. I have an older home and there was no way to fill my sinks until I received this. Now I can trap things from going down the drain and plug the sink up for whatever reason I need to.
