They fit (little more snug than the originals but charged right up on my DeWalt charger. Gave my old drill new life.

These are twice the size as the originals and super heavy. Can’t imagine holding the drill very long with these!

If you have a lot of older DeWalt 18v tools, your OEM Ni-Cd batteries are probably starting to lose capacity. Replacements from DeWalt are nearly impossible to find and will typically be quite expensive if new. One alternative is to buy an adapter that will allow a newer 20v DeWalt battery to be used with an older 18v tool. Alternatively, aftermarket manufacturers are making compatible batteries like these, which use Ni-MH cells. Note that you will need to get an Ni-MH-compatible battery charger, which is not particularly costly. This battery from Fhybat came pre-charged at 19 volts, and after putting on a charger for a bit, topped off at 20.5 volts, which is indicative of 15 healthy cells at a maximum voltage at just over 1.35 volts each. The battery suggests that it has 3.6 Ah capacity and time will tell, but there's definitely plenty of power available when charged. The battery's exterior is a little bit taller than the OEM DeWalt and about the same weight (see picture to compare). It clicked in nicely to my drill.Note that the listing indicates it is sold by "Fhybat" but there are no markings on this battery other than a manufacturer model no. RDE06N. The small user manual that comes in the package (see picture) seems generic and also does not indicate a manufacturer. However, it does suggest to "contact us first for any battery questions, we offer 7x24 hours' friendly customer service!" But there is no contact information, LOL.Bottom line, it's a generic Ni-MH clone of an 18v DeWalt battery that works just fine. Time will tell if it holds up. So far, it merits 5 stars.

The tools can survive as long as you take care of them, but NiMh/NiCd batteries... not so much, so it's nice to have a couple replacements for a fair price. Sawzall, drill, light, circular saw, etc all have just as much oomph as I remember them having and last about as long in use, so its a perfect replacement as far as I'm concerned. They're a bit stiffer inserting and removing them compared the the original, but not anywhere near to the point that it's difficult either.

The problem with battery operated tools is the battery. Over time batteries get weaker and fail to hold a charge. The solution is to get new and affordable batteries. This is a good example of replacing OEM batteries with a generic one. This one took a charge quickly from the DeWalt recharger and seems to work just fine with my drill. My only negative observation is that it was a little difficult to get the battery to seat in the charger. The dimensions must be a slight bit different from OEM batteries, but close enough to get it down in the socket. I have not used it enough to speak to the working life of the battery.

This is the fourth version of an aftermarket battery for the old Dewalt 18 volt Nickel Metal-Halide batteries (which was really great but then they came out with the thinner, lighter lithium batteries making these obsolete) that I've tried and these are exceptional. I do really like the peak torque power that these tools give powered by these batteries which are bigger and heavier then lithium. This battery seems as good as the original Dewalt batteries that came with those tools. I think they were being sold for $80-$90 a piece and they said Dewalt 18v on them. After that we were able to get these grey generic ones from Amazon but they didn't last long until they started to lose power and just perform like a dying battery even after a full charge. These are the newest iterations of the Dewalt 18v battery and therefore the best. The best in Ni-mh atleast...But they do perform much better then the grey generics that went for about $35. So these being about the same price as the cheap generics years later is a great big plus in my book and they work as good if not better then those overpriced Dewalt's from Home Depot.
