Overall, this 3-in-1 kitchen sink strainer and stopper is a good option. It is well constructed with no flaws or sharp edges. Sharp edges have been an issue for me with other sink strainers in the past, so I am quite pleased that I can clean it thoroughly without risking a trip to the ER for stitches! It still looks brand new after roughly six weeks of use, no corrosion or rust on the metal parts, and the silicone parts have not separated from the assembly or torn. I like the look of it much better than the other strainers I've purchased, as it has a more classy "finished" look to it. My favorite thing about it is that is indeed a good sink stopper. No water has leaked through, even when I filled the sink and left it for several hours as a test. It has really come in handy lately while cleaning countless household items and knick-knacks that had collected dust in an unoccupied home for a while.I've made two observations that caused me to knock a star off of the overall rating. Most importantly, the spaces in the silicone strainer part are too far apart for my comfort. I've had a clogged drain pipe multiple times because of a 90 degree turn in the plumbing that led to the need to strain in the first place. Even small bits can begin collecting in that bend of the drain pipe, and eventually accumulate into a clog. This might not be an issue for those with drain pipes that don't have such a degree of an angle in them, but it is an important factor for some. (The more the bend in the pipe, the more the water is slowed down as it passes through, so the more debris gets stuck and begins to accumulate.)Secondly, and of much less importance but still an annoyance, when I lift the center post, the silicone strainer basket comes off (as it should, to facilitate being emptied into the trash). But then the post underneath for the stopper portion is a very slippery plastic that I can't grip. It slips out of my fingers every time. I then have to get a fingernail underneath the stainless rim to pick the rest of the assembly up for cleaning. This also may not be an issue for everyone, but I am one of those "clean freaks" that washes all the greasy buildup out of the sink and off of the stoppers/strainers. Once I have it lifted out it is easy to clean, but it would be ideal to be able to pick it up by the stem.I will also note that I haven't figured out what the 3rd aspect of "3-in-1" is. It is 1) a sink stopper and 2) a sink drain strainer. I haven't figured out a third purpose for it.

The drainer basket for my sink was starting to wear out. I looked around and bought a bunch of different drainer baskets and found none of them fit. I’m fortunate to have a plumber in the family, so I asked him what I would have to do and he told me that the drain would have to be taken out and a new drain strainer installed. Since he lives almost 2 hours away, I wasn’t going to ask him to come all this way just to replace it and when they come to visit I hate putting him to work. So I dealt with the deteriorating basket, praying to the plumbing gods that it would last until I found a solution. And then I found this drain basket…The basket install went from opening the box to stopping the sink in less than 10 seconds and the bulk of that time was for breaking the tape seal on the box! No plumber needed. I tested the seal by leaving water in the sink overnight and there was no drainage. The center pop up presses easily and you know when the drain is sealed - no more filling the sink with hot soapy water and then finding you didn’t put the strainer/stopper in correctly. The basket part catches everything and lifts out easily. It holds more than a standard basket. It’s already made my life a teeny bit easier because I don’t have to worry if the water will stay in the sink.

I was wanting a kitchen sink strainer and stopper. I was a bit unsure as to just which size to get, but with this one being referred to as a universal stopper, I decided to chance it with these.Upon opening, they were entirely ready to use. One just walks over and inserts it. They fit my kitchen drain perfectly and held water beautifully. I had been experiencing the frustration of having a kitchen stopper that had started to leak.I wash all of my dishes by hand, and I like to put 4-6 inches of hot water in the sink, then allow them to sit for a few minutes before I wash them. It had gotten so that when I would come back after having them soak for a few minutes, approximately a third of the water was escaping. I was irritated with the water escaping. I felt that I was wasting water, and so I wanted desperately to stop it up entirely. This stopper contained every bit of the water! I was able to utilize my usual procedure of running hot water 4-6 inches deep, depending upon how many dishes there are to do. I returned in fifteen minutes after soaking them, and all of the water remained in the sink! I Love that. After finishing the dishes, I decided to allow the stopper to stay in the sink, even though I was done with dishes. The purpose of which was simply to ascertain whether the stopper would continue to hold the water. Just under three hours later, as I am starting to make supper, it seems that every drop of the water has been contained. I am definitely enthused by this product. It seems to excel at containing water. At this point, if you have read the above glowing report, you already know that I am entirely enthused by how well these stoppers hold water. They perform their function flawlessly and dependably. These kitchen stoppers and strainers have my highest recommendation!
