I've used this hair before and it was acceptable but the last batch I got was lousy. It smelled like burnt hair when I wet it during the rehair and it it's brittle and stretches and breaks easily. It's usable for cheap but I can't recommend this.

My first attempt at a bow re-hair. Slightly difficult, but not the fault of the hair. It was a cheap bow & the old hair was glued in. Took some time to remove the old glue. After that, the new hair was easy to install & it performs very well. Patience is the key.

I have purchased these hanks before and this is what I observed about them. They come with a nice knot at one end. They have a generous length for a 4/4 bow. The hair takes rosin easily and produces a clean sound on the strings. When combing out I lost very little hair and had to only remove 2 or 3 hairs when rehairing the bow. They are generous in hair count I believe but I don't have a gauge to state that for a fact. But I feel I could have culled many more hairs id I were really picky. Sorry but I am a guitar luthier trying to learn bow rehairing and that is my best take on it. I would buy them again.

My dad came for a visit and noticed lots of broken hairs on my violin bow. I don't play, but he does and he is trying to get me interested in learning. So anyway, I ordered this hair for him to restring my bow. He said it was great quality, and had not trouble with it. Thank you for such a great price for a great product.

AS A GUITAR BUILDER, i HAVE COME TO REPAIR AND WORK WITH OTHER STRINGED INSTRUMENTS, i.e. violins .. I could find no one near my home who did re-hairing so ..I gave it a shot .. After watching a couple of videos , and ordering the hair I needed .. my first attempt went well . I encourage others to give it a try . You will need to make a few jigs to stabilize the bow while you work on it .. A good bow may easily be worth more than the violin itself ..Take your time and refer to the instructions and you should be fine ...It is much much cheaper as well ..

I "Searched" bow hair for CELLO and this came up- I ordered- it is minimally enough for a violin. I was in a rush & had to use it otherwise would have sent it back not because of bad quality hair but for the fact that it was not stated for violin AND it was not a sumptuous amount of hair. I am not pleased.

I bought one of these and one Andrea Rosin to learn how to re hair my bow. They work very well with each other. This hair set is a lot stronger than the hair that are on my free bow.

Good quality, great color, nice and clean and once I cut the length in half it gave me twice the amount of hair to work with. I used it to adorn the front of a Sporan (leather pouch) I was making,Excellent purchase, packaging, and customer service is amazing... I will purchase again!!
