I haven’t used it yet but it looks fine, arrive promptly, wrapped to prevent leaks. Everything looks good. The one star was a mistake it was supposed to be four because I had not actually tried it yet. I’ve tried it now and it works great. I would recommend it. So five stars.

The smell was a little stronger than I was expecting, but it wasn’t unpleasant – I would describe it as ‘nutty’, and it didn’t linger on my hands after I washed them. The oil itself has an smooth consistency and soaked in well to the wood I tested it on. While you can apply this oil straight out of the bottle, it’s often recommended to thin it 1:1 with mineral spirits.

Vine Customer Review for Free Product.17OZ Pure Tung Oil for for Wood Finishing,Food Safety for Furniture & Countertop,100% Pure Tung Oil for Indoor & Outdoor Unfinished Bare Wood, Furniture,Floors etcI believe that this 17oz bottle of Tung Oil is priced very well. I like that the company took precautions of adding an internal plastic plug, under the cap & shrink wrapping the entire bottle to prevent any leakage. This is my first time using Tung Oil which I had always heard good things about and I like that it's nearly odorless and how easy it is to apply. I'm finding that a little of the Tung Oil goes a long way. The oil soaks into the wood well and within a reasonable amount of time (as long as it's properly applied). This oil is bringing new life to my Grandmother's chest and it's beginning to look so pretty now!

I needed to add a layer of stain or oil protection to a wooden raised garden. My first concern is toxicity. Since I am growing herbs and veggies, I needed something safe for gardens that won’t be taken up by plants. I read up on a few options, and tung oil was a good suggestion that can be used on cutting boards and used for outdoor applications to preserve against weather as well. I’ve also ordered a citrus solvent to thin the tung oil application to make drying quicker and mixing it at a 1:1 ratio which also doubles my supply. The tung oil has little to no odor. The solvent however is very lemony, but I can tell that is helps during application and the mix goes on evenly. The wood actually released tiny bubbles to the surface as the mixture was applied and soaked in. The soft wood is light and takes on some of the honey hues of the tung oil. I'm applying two to three coats and allowing for dry time in between.

I've worked with plenty of finishing oils over the years, and this 100% Pure Tung Oil has proven to be one of the most dependable options out there. Its ability to deeply penetrate unfinished wood ensures a lasting, natural finish that enhances the grain without artificial shine or tackiness. One of the standout features is its food safety, making it perfect for countertops and furniture that come into direct contact with daily use. No harsh additives, no overpowering chemical scent—just a straightforward, high-quality oil that does what it’s supposed to do.The application requires patience, as multiple thin coats yield the best results. It takes time to cure properly, but once set, the durability is worth the wait. Outdoors, it holds up well against moisture and general wear, giving wooden surfaces reliable protection without unnecessary buildup. For anyone looking for a straightforward, effective finishing oil, this one checks all the right boxes. A solid investment for woodworkers, restorers, or anyone looking to extend the life and beauty of their wooden pieces. 5-Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I wanted to add water protection to some acacia outdoor furniture and gave this product a try. It was easy to apply with a cotton cloth and is viscous enough to stay where you want it. I was pleasantly surprised at the smell which is not harsh at all and just kind of smells nutty. After two light coats, water is beading up on the wood and it should be far more resistant to moisture damage. The color of the wood did not change significantly (it was already stained). It did take the second coat about 24 hours to dry completely. It's worth noting that as with similar wood finishing oils, tung oil is exothermic when it dries and the used application cloths need to be disposed of property to mitigate the risk of fire.

I'd recently ordered a wood-carving knife set on here, and I'm looking forward to learning how to whittle and hopefully make a wooden spoon for cooking needs. So when I saw this tung oil, I figured I'd try it out. I'm not 100% sure if this is what I'll need for my carving creations, but I think it is, so we'll see.It does say that it's safe for food-related use, like on cutting boards and (presumably) wooden spoons, so that's promising.I'm not good at estimating sizes or amounts, so the bottle was a bit smaller than I was expecting, but a little bit goes a long way with this stuff, so I think it'll last me a while, especially since I'm only planing on using it for smaller things.I think this is a great value, and I found it at just the right time for my blossoming wood-carving hobby. I'll likely be putting this on my To Get Again list.

I used this tung oil to finish a butcher block countertop and a couple of cutting boards, and I’m seriously impressed with the results. It’s 100% pure, food-safe, and has no harsh smell or chemical additives, which made me feel a lot better about using it on surfaces that come in contact with food.Application was straightforward—just used a soft cloth to apply a thin coat, let it soak in, and repeated a couple more times after curing. It really brought out the natural grain and color in the wood, giving it a rich, warm tone with a smooth, slightly matte finish. It does take a while to fully cure, so patience is key, but the end result is well worth it. The finish is durable, water-resistant, and leaves no greasy residue once fully cured.Highly recommend for anyone doing woodworking, finishing furniture, or sealing food prep surfaces. Great price for the size and purity!
