Bought an EV and my breaker box is in the basement. Wanted to charge me thousands because is in a finished basement. My laundry room is right by the Garage and it works perfect with my dryer plug. Would highly recommend, giving it a try.

Part of our road-tripping kit to top off while visiting friends and family: this is for plugging into newer-style (i.e. fully grounded + neutral) NEMA 14-30 outlets with Tesla 14-50 plugs (e.g. one of the standard pigtails that comes with Tesla's mobile charger kit). Just be careful not to overheat the 14-30 outlet with constant hours, day after day, at the breaker’s rated amperage — most outlets themselves were designed for running a washing machine or dryer for just a few hours at a time. It’s advisable to set your car to pull 80% of the breaker’s rating - so if 30-amps, run it no more than 24 amps on the Tesla app that controls your mobile-charger.
